Goin' Down Rockin': The Last Recordings album Product Description
Goin' Down Rockin': The Last Recordings album by Waylon Jennings was released Sep 25, 2012 on the Saguaro Road label. Just prior to his death in 2002, Waylon Jennings headed over with some regularity to the home studio of his longtime friend and producer Robby Turner. Goin' Down Rockin': The Last Recordings songs Featuring nothing more than Waylon's own guitar and Turner's bass, these recordings were spare and simple, intended to be finished out some day down the road. Goin' Down Rockin': The Last Recordings album That day arrived a decade later, when Turner finally felt ready to flesh out these recordings with the assistance of several regular Jennings sidemen, adding rhythm, steel, guitars, keyboards, and some harmony vocals to the original demos, releasing the finished product as the Goin' Down Rockin' album. Goin' Down Rockin': The Last Recordings CD music Often, this kind of posthumous overdubbing winds up sounding a bit mawkish, but not here. Goin' Down Rockin': The Last Recordings music CDs There's little overt sentimentality here, nor is this quite as slick as the albums Jennings released in the last decade or so of his life, nor is this as austere and obsessed with mortality as Rick Rubin's productions for Johnny Cash. Goin' Down Rockin' merely sounds like a good latter-day album from Waylon Jennings, one where he's singing songs that matter to him and one where he's singing with soul. ...See Full Description

Goin' Down Rockin' I had ta have the last recording of the Hoss, he was 1 of our legends no matter how they changed the rythum of the songs, they sounded great. His remake of his old songs sounded awesome. The Hoss was great right up to the end. By Dakota Springs (Iowa)
10 years on and Waylon still Rocks The album is of a high standard as when Waylon was still alive, but on a couple of tracks the over dubbing is a little loud for the song,(thats just I think) others may still like it. Over the complete album the results is very good Waylons voice was still so good. I think this may be a better album than a lot that came out in the 8 to 10 years before Waylon died, I hope that it will continue to sell well, It's well worth the wait for a " new "Waylon Album. Great. David By david.calvert123 (Alford, United Kingdom)
Pure Waylon This is pure Waylon. This is Waylon at his best. I love every single track but there are two that stands out. First the title track, "Goin' Down Rockin'". It is so Waylon. Then, "I Do Believe" and finally the remake of "She Was No Good For Me". If you're new to Waylon music I can't think of a better way to be introduced to it than this. By k-loekka (Norway)
