Monster album by Kiss was released Oct 09, 2012 on the UME label. As Kiss approach 40 years of ridiculous rock & roll fun, it makes sense that their 20th studio album, Monster, is more self-referential than anything. Monster songs Following 2009's Sonic Boom, the album marks the second set of tunes by a revamped "original" Kiss lineup, with Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons joined by new guitarist Tommy Thayer and re-emerging Eric Singer donning the makeup and personas originated by Ace Frehley and Peter Criss, respectively. Monster is a tremendous throwback to the superhuman partying and heavy metal Ragnarök of Kiss albums like Destroyer and Love Gun, with meaty riffs, hamfisted drumming, and a combination of Simmons' patented demonic growls and Stanley's interstellar party-starting, not to mention amounts of cowbell that would have been above average even in 1977. "All for the Love of Rock & Roll" is a big-hearted boogie rocker that would have fit on Frehley's stoney 1978 solo album, while the campily sinister metal riffage of "The Devil Is Me" and "Freak" fit more into the era of slick radio metal of 1992's Revenge. ...See Full Description

New KISS Atlast!!!
Okay, I purchased Monster just because it is a KISS cd. Having said that, this was a pretty good cd. I personally think it was better than Sonic Boom. I liked Eat Your Heart Out, Outta This World and Last Chance ( And a track a friend let me listen to that should have been on this cd - Right Here, Right Now ).. In my opinion there was only one thing missing from this cd; ACE FREHLEY. He gave the band an edge that they haven`t had since he left the band. But other than that this was a very nice cd.

Let's all forget Dynasty
Finally, the album that will make us all forget that this HUGE band ever did Dynasty. I liked Sonic Boom, but this album is better...harder....tuffer!!! Well-arranged and one of the best rock releases in 2012. Rock on:)!

What a Hard Rock Album!!!
This album is amazing. The more I listen to it, the more I love it. If you didn't like this album at first listen, please, listen a least three times before starting evaluating it.

Not bad but not great either
A decent enough effort. First off I hate the cover art as well as the title (much in the same way I hated the title and cover art for Sonic Boom). Having said that I totally dig the booklet that comes with Monster. Good stuff. Gene should be fined every time he compares a new album to Destroyer + Revenge that's for sure. The overall production could use some work. Paul really shinned on Sonic Boom - more so than here. The band should not bury the Tommy and Eric tunes. I would've put them higher up as well as changed a few other things to make the album flow a bit better. Sonic Boom is a better album for sure, but this is not a bad Kiss album. It's just not a great Kiss album. Best songs: HOH, Wall of Sound, Outta This World, Long Way Down, All For The Love of RnR, The Devil Is Me
