Born to Sing: No Plan B songs Liner Note Authors: Gavin Martin; Alan Light; Solly Lipsitz. Born to Sing: No Plan B marks Van Morrison's 35th album and his return to Blue Note Records. Morrison released What's Wrong with This Picture? for Blue Note back in 2003. He re-signed to legendary jazz label in large part because musician and producer Don Was signed on to head it. Featuring ten new songs, Morrison plays guitar, alto saxophone, and occasional keyboards. Employing his trademark Celtic soul, the album also showcases incursions into jazz and blues -- and sometimes all three within the same tune. Morrison recorded the sessions in Belfast, and produced them. He used his road band augmented by guest musicians. Rolling Stone (p. 69) - 4 stars out of 5 -- "The greater, constant lift is in the album's earthy-R&B roll..." | Not back on top, Van Morrison is still on top Do not worry. Van Morrison is true to the music he has always given to music lovers everywhere. I could sit down and lesson to Astral Weeks and turn to Born To Sing: No Plan B and never really find that Van got older like the rest us us. I do not believe there is anyone like Van. Glad there was not a plan B. By randclaforest (Newcastle, WA, USA) |
