Beatles (White Album) songs THE BEATLES (generally known as "The White Album" because of its cover) was a sprawling two-record set, highlighting the distinct personalities in the group as they matured and moved further away from each other. Beatles (White Album) album With the four Beatles playing like session men on each other's songs, the making of the album was fraught with tension. Beatles (White Album) CD music John Lennon's songs included a bitter take on people who read too much into the Beatles' lyrics ("Glass Onion"), reflections on loneliness and alienation ("Yer Blues," "I'm So Tired"), and the avant garde sound collage "Revolution 9." George Harrison's songs offered black humor ("Piggies") and tender sadness ("While My Guitar Gently Weeps," with Eric Clapton on guitar). | One of the Beatles best This lavixh 2 record set(originally)in my opinion , is one of the best from the Beatles. They delved into a myraid of musical styles including what would become metal on classics such as Paul's Helter Skelter and John's Yer Blues and Happiness is a Warm Gun. But face it, this whole cd set(every song)is a great listen! I miss the 4 glossy photos that were included with the vinyl. I know they wouldn't fit here, but.... This is still a great album and the mini-documentary is interesting as well. By Darryl (Fulton, MO and Pensacola, FL) This review is for a different format. |

| The Beatles Forever They were brilliant on this album as well as Abbey Road. Every rock band since them has been influenced by them and has tried to emulate them. You had to be young when this album came out to fully appreciate it today. I don't expect people that are in their 20's or younger today to understand what the Beatles meant to us. Just listen to this masterpiece and enjoy what they gave us. By Jesse (Greensboro, NC, USA) This review is for a different format. |
