Self-Healing 2.0 songs Product Information
New age composer Stephen Halpern has been at the forefront of healing-based music since the mid-'70s when he released his debut, Chakra Suite. Over the years, his many recordings have been used for relaxation, therapy, meditation, yoga, and a variety of other uses. A part of his Subliminal Affirmations Series, Self-Healing 2.0 is a set of mostly keyboard-oriented instrumental pieces intended to boost the body and spirit by way of relaxing musical tones and positive affirmations that are spoken onto each track, but mixed so low as to be inaudible. Whether or not the spoken inspirational messages are actually there is a mystery and must to taken as a leap of faith, but the dreamy synth tones blended with electric piano, acoustic piano, flute, and harp are downright mystical. ...See Full Description

Abbey Sings Billie, Vol. 2 CD (1987)
7, 1987. Includes an interview with Abbey Lincoln as conducted by Adger Cowans.
Recorded live in New York City over two nights in 1987, this second volume continues Abbey Lincoln's loving tribute to her primary influence, Billie Holiday. Lincoln herself puts it best when she says, "I wanted to just say thank you to Billie with this album, because I can't imagine what it would have been for me if she hadn't been there." Backed by a splendid quartet, Lincoln can soar over their solid foundation as well as be embraced by the supple folds of their sympathetic arrangements. Harold Vick's tenor saxophone is a fine foil for Lincoln; his solos echo the same bluesy poetics of her singing. These recordings also marked the beginning of Lincoln's reemergence, which took full flower in the '90s with a wonderful series of albums on the Verve label.
Recorded at the Universal Jazz Coalition, New York, New York on November 6 &
