Developed by the internal team at Computer Artworks, the game utilizes a gameplay mechanic never before used in the genre -- a trust and fear interface that enables players to monitor the psychological states of NPCS who may actually be The Thing itself. this is a great game for fans of resident evil. it is fun, scary, excellent sound, cool graphics and if you saw the movie you are going to be delighted with all the details that the game has in relation with the movie.

For 20 Years....One Question Has Remained....What Survived?
Where The Movie Ended, The True Terror Begins!
The sequel to John Carpenter's The Thing is a very well made CD game. Nearly every"thing" about this game is true to the original '82 cult classic. The weapons, the technology, the locations, The Things.
The opening movie starts with R. J. MacReady's (Kurt Russel) last recorded message, and the rest is pure "makes you wanna buy it" action.
Graphically rich and highly detailed. Extremely realistic blood and gore. Interactivity with characters who'll no sooner trust you than cuss you out. The Thing is worthy of it's Mature rating.
The Trust/Fear engine is a terrific element to gameplay, as is the inventory system. This 3rd person shooter is like no other 3rd person shooter you've ever played. You're solely responsible for, not only your ammo, but your team's ammo. Not only your fear, but your team's fear. Not only whether or not you trust the characters you meet, but whether or not they trust you.
The Thing is a real treat, whether you've seen the original or not (but it helps, so rent it).

The best thing about this game is the paranoia. Most horror games the person is fearless, In The Thing It's real emotion. The more banged up and grotesque the closer your teams goin to crack up and do what Pierce did. I give this 5 stars.
