Director Peter Jackson

After working on this movie for more than four years on an extremely tight budget (and with a cast and crew consisting only of himself and a group of close friends), filmmaker Peter Jackson eventually completed it with the help of the New Zealand Film Commission, who were very impressed with what they'd seen so far of Jackson's first cinematic effort. In BAD TASTE, a small New Zealand coastal town is taken over by the extraterrestrial Lord Crumb and his army of alien invaders, who are planning to "harvest" the inhabitants for an intergalactic chain of fast-food restaurants. But Derek (Jackson) and his mates from AIDS (the Astro Investigation and Defense Service) are sent in by the government to destroy the enemy at all costs and ensure the survival of mankind. With plenty of gross-out shock effects, grotesque humanoid aliens, and high camp value, it's easy to see why this film became a cult favorite and a big hit on the midnight-movie scene. Jackson would go on to direct the ultragory DEAD ALIVE, the acclaimed drama HEAVENLY CREATURES, and one of the greatest trilogies in cinema history--THE LORD OF THE RINGS.

In Peter Jackson's BAD TASTE, an army of alien invaders has landed in coastal New Zealand with the intent of turning its human inhabitants into intergalactic fast food. Their nefarious mission is sabotaged, however, when a four-man commando team is sent in by the government to fend off the invaders. Bloody mayhem ensues....Prepare for scenes featuring exploding sheep, vomit eating, and cannibalism. With its unique blend of hardcore violence and outrageous black humor, BAD TASTE is a genre-busting treat for dauntless moviegoers.

BAD TASTE won the Gore Award at 17th Paris Festival of Fantasy and Science Fiction. The end theme was composed and performed by the Remnants.

This is the only Pete O'Herne video. Stars also making their debut in this video: Terry Potter, Mike Miett.

5 stars incredible movie-a must buy
this movie is definitely a cult classic. even if your not a gore fan, it's still a great film. there isn't much gore at all, but that doesn't mean it isn't an awesome movie. if you like funny, action filled movies this is the one to get. also, Peter Jackson himself is in this and he does a great job as both Derek and Robert. trust me, you will like this movie and it's worth the price.

5 stars PETER JACKSON
His first movie and a cult classic here in New Zealand and the world. Quite simplistic in its approach to special effects but effective nevertheless. Done on the cheap with friends and family it is the start of an illustrious career. The plot is basic but he gets away with it due to the sheer fun they are having and in this film Peter established himself as the master of hilarious blood and guts.

5 stars AMAZING!
As far as gore movies go... you'd be hard pressed to find any better than "Bad Taste." The name is very applicable to this film. My rating of it strictly based on gore movies. I know that alot of people not into gore would give it a "one star" rating... but it's so much better than that. If you're into gore movies, don't miss "Bad Taste." It's amazing! If you love gore, you'll love "Bad Taste."

3 stars Um,
This movie definetly has its highlights, but the plot is not one of them. Also, there's not as much gore as other reviewers would have you think. Not too bad for Peter Jackson's first film, but Dead Alive is way better.

John Nada (Roddy Piper) is a quiet loner, a drifter who gets work where ever he can find it. While working on a construction site in L.A. and sleeping in a vagrant community at night, John stumbles upon a secret society of alien beings who pose as wealthy and powerful people in human society. John joins a rebel group commited to exposing this conspiracy, and becomes their reluctant leader and the only hope of the human race. Former wrestler Rowdy Roddy Piper is outstanding as the unassuming hero, playing the role with understated shock at what he uncovers and stubborn courage when he confronts it. Director John Carpenter laces the film with his trademark blend of humor and horror, making aliens that are hideously arrogant, greedy, and easy to hate, while the humans are confused and desperate in their struggle against them. The world looks a little different at the end of THEY LIVE, and one will never look at billboards, money, or sunglasses the same way again. The film ...

DVD $9.69  4.5 stars Top 100
Picking up where NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD left off, and still offering no explanation of why the dead are walking the earth, DAWN OF THE DEAD plunges headlong into one of the most violent and original horror films ever made. After securing an apartment building overcome with flesh-eating zombies, two Philadelphia area SWAT team members, Peter (Ken Foree) and Roger (Scott Reiniger), flee to a television station, where they escape in the station's helicopter with Francine (Gaylen Ross) and Stephen (David Emge), two station employees. Seeking refuge from the zombies and the ensuing hysteria, they land on top of a Pittsburgh area shopping mall, despite the fact that the undead seem to be flocking there. What begins as a stop for supplies becomes a longer stay as the four become embroiled in a futile war within the mall to keep their flesh to themselves and remain alive. The film's relentlessly disturbing and innovative gore effects are one reason to see DAWN OF THE DEAD, but those who can stomach the endless barrage of blood and gnarled zombie faces will be rewarded--and possibly surprised--by what the film says about human nature and life within a consumer-based culture. Any aficionado of horror is likely to ...

The longest and (in retrospect) most significant of the sixth-season DOCTOR WHO adventures, "The War Games" began its ten-week run on April 9, 1969. The TARDIS materializes on a planet that bears a remarkable resemblance to Earth. But there are a few differences: for one thing, the landscape seems to be festooned with battlefields; for another, the combatants are garbed in costumes from a vast and dizzying array of countries and centuries. ...

Neo (Keanu Reeves), Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss), and Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne) continue their battle against the machines in THE MATRIX RELOADED, the second chapter of Larry and Andy Wachowski's MATRIX trilogy. As RELOADED begins, Neo, Trinity, and Morpheus arrive in Zion with new crew member Link (Harold Perrineau), and discover that 250,000 dreaded sentinels are close to launching a massive attack on the underground haven for the liberated minds of humanity. When Neo seeks advice from the prophetic Oracle (the late Gloria Foster), their meeting leads to a sorely outnumbered fight with Neo's old nemesis, Agent Smith (Hugo Weaving). While the sentinels advance on Zion, various battles within the Matrix continue to escalate, culminating in an extended highway chase sequence involving Morpheus, Trinity, more imposing agents, and two new adversaries--the relentless white-clad Twins (Adrian and Neil Rayment). With RELOADED, the Wachowski brothers delve deeper into both the realm of the Matrix and the apocalyptic, machine-controlled future reality. Initially giving ample attention to both the romance between Neo and Trinity and to the vast underground city of Zion, the film eventually delivers one stunning set piece after another, with the amazing martial arts sequences and jaw-dropping effects of the first MATRIX elevated to even more astounding heights. In addition to the returning cast of Reeves, Moss, Fishburne, Weaving, and Foster, Perrineau and Jada Pinkett Smith make for welcome new additions, and Monica Bellucci offers ...

This cult classic is the story of two high flying detectives and their encounters with superheroes and villains who are taking over the world through rock-n-roll. Fans of Woody Allen's WHAT'S UP TIGER LILLY? should find this highly a highly enjoyable romp, actors Philip Proctor and Peter Bergman often aping Allen's style in a hilarious fashion. Poor quality bootlegs of this movie have been circulating for years, now it's your chance to see what all the fuss was about! J Men is the story of The Secret World War, a war of cultures as Rock & Roll smashes Shmaltzy music. This outrageous comedy was created by Firesign Theatre's Philip Proctor and Peter Bergman in the style of Woody Allen's "What's Up Tiger Lilly?" From a goldmine of Republic Cliffhanger Serials, J Men was overdubbed with new voices and script to a Classic Rock ...
