Hed P.E.: Chizad (guitar, background vocals); Wesstyle, MCUD (guitar); Mawk (bass); B.C. (drums). Recorded at Long View Farm Studios, North Brookfield, Massachusetts. Personnel: Wesstyle (guitar). Audio Mixer: Ben Grosse. Recording information: Long View Farm Studios, North Brookfield, MA. Editor: Chaz Harper. Unknown Contributor Role: DJ Product. Southern California's (hed) pe attempt to fuse the area's two dominant musical styles, melodic punk and hip-hop, on their self-titled debut full-length. They're rhythmically looser and funkier than many similar rap-metal bands, although comparisons to Rage Against the Machine are still apt. There are some slow and/or unfocused moments on (hed) pe, but overall, its aggression will probably play well with late-'90s metal and punk fans. ~ Steve Huey Hed P.E. Music Review Average Rating: (4.3 out of 5 stars) Hed PE is the future of rock Hed PE along with several other up and coming artists is sure to push the rock genre into a new sound. Hed PE has already labeled their new sound as G-punk; a clash of rap beats and vocals with rythmic guitars and mixing boards. Submitted by wcmcguire (Westford, MA) Was This Review Helpful? Still my Favorite album I saw these guys open up at the first Soulfly show in Houston and I was instantly hooked. This is still their best album by far. This album is fast and adrenaline pumping.
I still get hyped-up every time I hear IFO. I gotta give props to "The Simpsons" reference in that song. Submitted by mirrorz (Houston, TX USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
the self titled album was amazing... When (hed) dropped their self-titled album nearly 6 years ago NOBODY and i mean nobody had ever even heard of this band...the uniqueness of this band is unmatched. They created that trademark nu metal/rap combo that many bands have tried to copy since but none can throw down like MCUD and (hed)p.e. and even in their early days you can see how kick ass they are. This album is simply amazing...buy it now...now...now! I would tell you what my favorite song is on it but thats the thing, they all kick so much ass that it'd be too hard to choose but if i had to choose three then they'd be; "P.O.S.", "Serpent Boy", and "Hill". this cd is freakin awesome. end of story.
