This is the London revival cast recording of Willy Russell's weepy melodrama, originally released in England in 1988 at the time of the revival, and released in the U.S. in 1993 to commemorate the opening of the show on Broadway. Russell is steeped in '60s British pop music, and the show is full of catchy songs, although the contrived and dreary subject matter and the repetitiousness may drive some to distraction. Blood Brothers is more than a tearjerker; it suctions tears out of its audience with a vacuum cleaner. My 16 year old daughter saw this show last summer in London and has been pining for the cd. I personally as tired of listening to it in my car - but she is a very happy lady.
The experience through cduniverse was a pleasure.

My wife is from Ireland and the last time she was there her sister and brother-in-law took her to the play "Blood Brothers". She was thrilled about the play and when I gave her the soundtrack from it she cloudn't stop playing it! It was so worn and used that I had to get another one, but I got the wrong one and it wasn't the same. When I visited you site I saw the exact one that needed to be replaced and now that she has it and can listen to it she and my kids are so happy! Thank you so much! It was worth it!

Amazing!
I saw Blood brothers in london and it was sooo fantastic! The actors/actresses made it fabulous and it was a mix of funny and upsetting. I cried buckets :S
But I really want to go for my birthday. Go see it if you haven't already, or if you have, go see it again :D

Brilliant display of theatrical color and emotion. The play swept me off my feet and brought tears to my eyes. It inspired the world to achieve the dream of equality...of brotherhood. This play is so close to my heart and dear to all I know. Each day I awake, I yearn for the moment I may again travel to England and set my tired eyes upon those marvalous icons. My fellow thesbians, this is your hour, the time that we may fufill our purpose in life by gazing upon what some may call a mere musical. But I call it a dream, as it is too perfect for reality. In the words of a famous unknown Greek playwright....U good man!

Singer-songwriter Jane Bolduc pulls no punches when it comes to putting it out there, musically or emotionally.
