The Best of Tom Jones is a comprehensive collection of his greatest hits that supplants The Complete Tom Jones as being the definitive CD-era hits collection. Running 22 tracks where The Complete only featured 20, the disc contains everyone of Jones' classic singles, from "It's Not Unusual," "What's New Pussycat," "Thunderball," "Deliah," and "She's a Lady" to "Kiss." Even though this features the cream of the crop, there are a few weak moments here and there -- Tom Jones wasn't exactly a consistent artist -- but there's no denying that this is the pick for casual fans. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
Focusing primarily on Tom Jones' late-1960s output, this 12-track collection features such perennials as "It's Not Unusual," "What's New Pussycat?" (in a curiously abbreviated version), and "I'll Never Fall in Love Again"; still, although entertaining, it's missing far too many key tracks ("Delilah" and "She's a Lady" among them) to truly qualify as a best-of. ~ Jason Ankeny

Too long thought of as merely a kitsch figure, Jones is an undeniable talent. However, it seems that either you get him or you don't. If you get him, this is the anthology to get.
