Despite their enormous success in their native England and their inroads into the US market, Starsailor defies expectations at every turn. While the group takes its name from one of Tim Buckley's most experimental albums, there's nothing remotely Buckley-like or experimental about their sound. And though the quartet is often lumped in with Britpoppers, they share neither the laddish anthems and Beatles obsessions of Oasis nor the friendly pop sensibilities of Travis and Coldplay. Instead, Starsailor offers a moody brand of folk-rock that brings late-period Cat Stevens to mind more than any of the band's contemporaries. With a chiming, organic mix of electric and acoustic guitars and '70s-sounding keyboards, LOVE IS HERE takes the listener through an often angst-ridden series of emotional extremes while never becoming too sonically taxing.

Between the early 1970s and early '80s, Kansas made a long musical journey, starting out as complex prog-rock merchants, deeply indebted to the technically dazzling, epic works of Yes, Genesis, and Emerson, Lake & Palmer. In the 21st century, the power metal scene isn't just veteran headbangers like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, and Queensr˙che, it's also power metal revival bands such as Symphony X, Iron Savior, Morifade, DragonForce, and Rhapsody. The difference between the older power metallers and the younger power metal revival acts is not a stylistic difference but rather, a matter of when a band came along; stylistically, the power metal revival combos that were formed in the '90s or 2000s are consistently mindful of the power metal artists who started recording in the late '70s or '80s. I am thrilled to announce my newest CD. All Jazzed Up is a great compilation of Jazz standards, both known and obscure. One of the things I strive in all my performances is to breath new life into songs that may have become dated in the musical world. I also wanted to take this time on this CD pay homage to some of the great singers that have affected my voice, and the vocal map of Jazz singing as a whole. Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, Louis Prima, and Louis Armstrong all are singers that are well worth revisiting. I also have formed myself as a scat singer over the past years. It is an art form that is not touched by many current Jazz singers, and even fewer males out of this genre. The band on this CD is also worth the listening to.
