The faithful-yet-beefed-up rendition of Material Issue's "Everything" that leads off Stereo Fuse's eponymous debut and, with an acoustic bonus version tacked onto the end, finishes it as well, isn't the track that defines the Dallas troupe. This is good considering how many new bands around the turn of the century seemed to be unable to escape a cover hit (Orgy, Alien Ant Farm), though the cuts do happen to typify everything else about the timeframe: "Super Hero" is 3 Doors Down rock meets the nu-metal ethos, "Breathe" offers a Stone Temple Pilots riff with vocals that sound like Rob Thomas of Matchbox Twenty fame singing one of the most infectious choruses you're likely to find, and "Heaven Inside You" is everything good and bad about '80s power ballads -- you can see the lighters lighting up the arena -- framed in a more modern epoch. The rest of the disc is filler that fails to bring out more than vehement ennui; however, having three cuts make the cut -- with none of them being the radio cover tune and each of them offering something slightly different -- is a better start than most of Stereo Fuse's brethren. ~ Brian O'Neill Stereo Fuse Songs | 1. | Everything |

| Stereo Fuse Music Review Average Rating: (3.3 out of 5 stars) Un-original Anybody who thinks this album is good,
is crazy.
Extremely unoriginal from the lyrics, to the guitar chords.
I'm surprised these guys got a record deal when 15 million other bands are making the same songs as these guys.
Put it this way: I wrote better songs when I was 10 yrs old. Submitted by a reviewer (Brantford, ON, Canada) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Decent Debut. Stereo Fuse their debut album is well done. Tracks such as "Seed" and "Flesh and blood" are very enjoyable, their first single "Everything" is a pretty song with touching lyrics but overall Stereo Fuse is another band that has come to the alternative scene to make good music and they have. Recommended. Submitted by a reviewer (Pennsylvania) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Worth a look! I had never heard of this band until I saw them as the opening act for Creed recently. It did not take long to realize that this is a pretty good band. Colin Hall has a very strong and easy voice to listen to, and having both an electric and acoustic version of "Everything" is an added bonus. This is a CD that you will listen to over and over. Stereo Fuse
$14.09 Audio Mixer: Randy Staub . When Layne Staley died from a drug overdose in 2002, it had already been several years since most Alice in Chains fans stopped hoping for a new album. The singer had become a recluse since the late-`90s, and there was little indication that AIC would ever again produce much in the way of new music. As a result, when the remaining members reunited to release BLACK GIVES WAY TO BLUE in 2009, expectations were low. To the delight of all however, the album proved to be perhaps the Seattle combo's most energetic and consistent effort since its masterpiece DIRT. Perhaps the most surprising element of the new record was how much it sounded exactly like Alice in Chains. While new singer William DuVall was not an exact Staley soundalike, he managed to evoke both the unique timbre and sense of deep angst that were the late vocalist's trademarks. Throughout, the sound is heavier and sturdier than ever before, with songs like the first single "A Looking In View" and "Check My Brain" borrowing a bit from the nu-metal bands Alice in Chains inspired, and beating the upstarts at their own game. It's hard not to feel for Alice in Chains -- all ...

After the dark and chilling themes of 2006's BLACK CADILLAC, which saw Rosanne Cash dealing with the deaths of her mother, Vivian Liberto, her father, Johnny Cash, and her stepmother, June Carter Cash -- all of whom passed within a two-year span -- one might assume that her next project would move into an even deeper level of bleakness, but with THE LIST, it's immediately ...
