This is an Enhanced CD, which contains both regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files. Contradictions that confound expectations of Ill Niño pop up throughout the band's debut disc. The gruesome cover and politically charged song titles imply a harder-than-thou thrash-fest that never materializes, as the band is one of the most sonorous of their ilk. At the same time, the Spanish surnames and band moniker implies gimmickry, but Ill Niño ain't a Puya; the Spanish lyrics and Latin flavor enhances without becoming overwrought. At times, Revolution Revolucíon seems almost too sedate, and it does fall into some of the usual rap-metal trappings in spite of itself, but overall this is an excellent debut for fans who lean more to the cerebral side of modern metallic endeavors. ~ Brian O'Neill

Brilliant band. Excellent to see live. Submitted by a reviewer (Schiedam, The Netherlands) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Very very good Don't what all the fuss is about.
This album is great! It has power, melody, aggression, venom, emotion and a tribal edge. I really like to play it. Why would I compare this band with other bands, I just listen to their music and decide weither I like it or not. If some dude would rate this album as nu-metal, whatever that may be, could I care? I don't think so.
Don't like those two albums they made afterwards though. They had to write radiofriedly songs of their record company, such a shame... caus I don't dig those...
Peace to y'all Submitted by Enrico tabbueno (Holland, Europe) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
