Spitalfield are back with Remember Right Now, once again posing the musical question, "How melodic can melodic punk get and still reasonably be considered punk?" Of course, the only rational response to that question is "Who cares?," which is why we're not even going to discuss the glockenspiel that keeps popping up on the bridge during "Those Days You Felt Alive." Instead we'll focus on those irresistible hooks, those delirious harmonies, those big fat crunchy guitars, those sometimes-just-a-bit-too-dewy-eyed lyrics ("It's a brand new day/You've got someone to be/And that someone is you"). Given their age, it's no surprise that these guys seem mainly obsessed with questions about what life holds in store for them ("Stolen from Some Great Writer," "In the Same Lifetime," "Am I Ready?") and the incomprehensible vagaries of romantic love ("Make My Heart Attack," "Those Days You Felt Alive"), but you can tell they're growing up because they obviously feel something other than blind rage. In fact, they don't sound angry at all, even when their friends betray them and their girlfriends confuse them. It must be the joy of making music this hooky, harmonious and fun. ~ Rick Anderson Spitalfield Remember Right Now Songs Remember Right Now Music Review Purchase Remember Right Now CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | Fall Out Boy Take This To Your Grave CD (2003)

Remember Right Now
$9.79 This is a collection of NOFX tracks from various compilations, 7"s and EPs, plus a previously unreleased song and dub remix. 45 or 46 Songs That Weren't Good Enough to Go on Our Other Records has to be one of the longest, and greatest, album titles of all time. However, for you pedants out there, it's also far from accurate. These songs may not have been up to NOFX album standards, but all, bar one, were considered worthy for release on 7" singles, EPs, or compilations. And that one exception is a new song. All told, this comes close to bringing together much of the group's vinyl-only releases and tough to find numbers from indie compilations. Close, but obviously not all, as Fat Mike chose to deliberately omit songs so as not to wreck the "coolness" value of owning the originals. Of course, all 47 (to be precise) of these songs could have fit onto a single CD, but again, Mike wisely decided that was a bit much to handle in one sitting, and tossed them onto two discs. So what do you get? The Europe-only single "Drugs Are Good," "Thalidomide Child," the bonus track from their 1984 demo tape, most of the Fuck the Kids and Suffer EPs, the Fat Club-only "Zyclone B Bathhouse," their offerings to Epitaph's Punk-O-Rama compilation series, 1994's "We Ain't Shitty," ...
