Hits! The Very Best of Erasure album for sale Product Description
Hits! The Very Best of Erasure album for sale by Erasure was released Nov 11, 2003 on the Sire/Mute label. An early track record of releasing one glistening single after another made Erasure's first compilation, Erasure Pop!: The First 20 Hits, a no-brainer to compile, but what to do with the duo's spotty later years? Best Of puts the old hits with the new ones, adds some rarities and remixes, and keeps with Pop!'s chronological structure. The first 13 tracks on Best Of cover the same, more successful, time Pop! did, and after that it's all moody epilogue. Hits! The Very Best of Erasure CD music contains a single disc with 38 songs. ...See Full Description

Yes 90125 CD (1983)
Hits! The Very Best of Erasure buy CD music When Jon Anderson rejoined Yes after DRAMA, he was inserting himself into an unusual situation. Keyboardist Geoff Downes and longtime guitarist Steve Howe had left to form Asia with prog rock vets John Wetton (King Crimson, Roxy Music etc.) and Carl Palmer (ELP). Chris Squire and Alan White brought original Yes keysman Tony Kaye back and recruited vibrant young Australian guitarist/vocalist/composer Trevor Rabin. The quartet had already begun writing and recording, but Anderson was able to insert himself into the proceedings with such ease that the new combination sounds completely natural on 90125.
Mostly, the band was concerned with trimming the musical fat to keep pace with the onslaught of the 1980s. Thus, tracks like "Owner of a Lonely Heart" and "City of Love" are full of samples, splices and almost funky beats and riffs. The unusual time changes and complex riffs of tunes like "Changes" and "Cinema" leave little doubt that this is still a Yes album, but the band succeeds in giving their sound a contemporary overhaul on 90125.
Includes 6 bonus tracks.

No Doubt Singles 1992-2003 CD (2003) Top Seller
Hits! The Very Best of Erasure CD music No Doubt's strength has always been in its singles, from the band's early phase as a ska/punk-pop ensemble to their latter-day status as pop chart-toppers. This 15-song collection features all of the band's hits, which are sequenced remarkably well. Gwen Stefani and the boys kick things off in an appropriately energetic fashion with their breakthrough single, "Just a Girl." The 1980s-influenced keyboard line of this jaunty track leads wonderfully into the group's deft cover of Talk Talk's '80s-pop classic "It's My Life," which sports a muscular, fuzzed-out bass backing and seems tailor-made for Stefani's plaintive vocals.
The mood shifts to a dancehall vibe with the ultra-catchy "Hey Baby," and the track listing continues like a giddy roller coaster ride, including the spry "Sunday Morning," the reggae-tinged "Underneath It All," the guitar-heavy "Spiderwebs," and the melancholy "Don't Speak." And as a fitting nod to No Doubt's long-time fans, this sure-footed retrospective closes with the rhythmic workout of "Trapped in a Box" from their self-titled first album, bringing the band's musical legacy full circle.

Depeche Mode Remixes 81-04 CDs (2004)
Hits! The Very Best of Erasure songs There was a time when you could walk into your average record store and find the singles section by spotting the big block of black rows. These rows signaled the whereabouts of the Ds and tended to eat up a disproportionate space of the singles section. In 2004, the Mute label condensed all of these releases into Remixes 81-04, which itself was ironically (or fittingly) presented in multiple versions. This particular version is a triple-disc set that attempts to function as a representative sampling of Depeche Mode's innumerable remixes. It does an admirable job, making a point to highlight glorified extended versions and radical reworkings alike. François Kevorkian, for instance, uses his invaluable understanding of the inner workings of both disco and dub to extend and sensitively tweak "Personal Jesus" for the dancefloor, transforming it into something that he would likely spin while DJing. Air, however, alter "Home" to the point where it sounds like one of their own moody, downcast productions -- Martin Gore plays guest instead of host. One of the most thrilling remixes shows no respect to the source material; Adrian Sherwood's decimation of "People Are People," from 1984, is a succession of jackhammering beats, agitated noise fragments, bizarre vocal interjections. In order to entice hardcore fans who already have the old remixes on the original single releases (or the six exhaustive box sets), a handful of new remixes were commissioned. Most of these appear in the latter half of the third disc, and at least half deserve to be in the company of the better-known reshapes. "Clean" is turned into a bristly acid gallop by Colder, and the new rhythm winds up coming close to mirroring "Personal Jesus." Rex the Dog reaches all the way back to "Photographic," providing layer upon layer of bursting synth. Ironically (or fittingly), Paul Morley -- who, as one of the tricksters behind the ZTT label (Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Propaganda), came up with the idea that you could never have a track remixed too many times -- pens the liner notes. ~ Andy Kellman

New Order International CD (2002)
Hits! The Very Best of Erasure CD music Additional personnel includes: Pete Davis (programming); Dawn Zee (background vocals).
Recorded between 1981 & 2002. Includes liner notes by David Blot.
Any band that's released nearly as many compilations as studio albums in the past 15 years certainly doesn't need another one, but International appeared anyway, and though it's slightly better than The Best of New Order, it's not nearly as solid as Substance. Beginning with New Order's recorded debut, 1981's "Ceremony," the collection proceeds immediately to the group's worldwide breakout with 1983's "Blue Monday," then slots mid-'80s classics "Confusion," "The Perfect Kiss," and "Bizarre Love Triangle." It certainly didn't need three tracks from 2001's Get Ready. Most of the tracks are album versions, though the compilers made wise choices on remixes of "Bizarre Love Triangle" and "Touched by the Hand of God." As befits a middling compilation from an excellent band, International is a take-it-or-leave-it proposition. ~ John Bush
Only single-CD New Order collection spanning the influential band's entire career (1981-2002), including full-length original versions of 'Blue Monday', 'True Faith' & 'Crystal'. Features a limited-edition bonus DVD with three music videos 'True Faith', 'Perfect Kiss' & 'Blue Monday' live from 5/11/02. Warner. 2002.

New Order Singles CDs (2005)
Hits! The Very Best of Erasure buy CD music After almost 20 years, New Order finally released a compilation that arguably exceeds 1987's SUBSTANCE with 2005's two-disc SINGLES. In terms of the material's breadth, SINGLES easily trounces SUBSTANCE, as it ranges from '81 to '05 and serves as an excellent overview of the famed post-punk/dance act's entire career. While the band's transition from Joy Division gets a slightly shorter shrift ("In a Lonely Place" is one of the few tracks from SUBSTANCE that's notably absent), the second disc is a wonderfully selected sampling of New Order's occasionally maligned later period.
Arranged chronologically, SINGLES moves from the group's first true steps out of Joy Division's shadow (the surging classics "Everything's Gone Green," "Temptation," and "Blue Monday") to jubilant pop glory (the catchy smash "Bizarre Love Triangle," the dance floor anthem "True Faith") and, eventually, to their status as veteran dance-rock heroes (the eminently assured "Regret" and "Crystal"). Although some fans may be perplexed by versions of songs that differ from SUBSTANCE (particularly "Temptation" and "Confusion"), SINGLES is so comprehensive that it should even win over New Order diehards still clinging tightly to their vinyl copies of the lauded former collection.
New Order (UK): Peter Hook.
Audio Mixers: Mark "Spike" Stent; Rich Costey; Jeremy Wheatley.
Audio Remixers: Arthur Baker; Johnny Potoker.
