Only Tools And Corpses music CDs
$9.95 In the early '90s, Cannibal Corpse acquired a small cult in the death metal underground by embracing some of the most gruesome lyrics the subgenre had to offer. Thriving on shock value, the band inspires comparisons to GWAR and comes across as a parody of death metal and grindcore more than anything. Like its previous album, the equally twisted Eaten Back to Life, Butchered at Birth addresses such lurid topics as dismemberment, ...

| | Gorerotted New Dawn For The Dead CD (2005)
Only Tools And Corpses album
$9.25 When a band's song titles have included "Gagged, Shagged, Bodybagged," "Bed 'Em, Behead 'Em," "Zombie Graveyard Rape Bonanza," "Can't Fit Her Limbs in the Fridge," and "Stab Me Till I Cum," it is safe to make two assumptions: (1) the band's members have seen way too many bad horror movies, and (2) they come from the Carcass/Cannibal Corpse/Necrophagia/Macabre school of shock value. Lyrically, A New Dawn for the Dead owes a lot to the American and British death metal and grindcore bands that came out of the late '80s and early '90s -- and like Carcass' Symphonies of Sickness or Cannibal Corpse's Butchered at Birth, this 2005 release is delivered in a very satirical, tongue-in-cheek fashion. Gorerotted's material simply oozes with irony. And yet, it would be a mistake to think of A New Dawn for the Dead as an exact replica of old-school grindcore. Rather, this gorefest is best described as a goofy death metal/black metal mixture (more death metal than black metal) that thrives on grindcore's over the top horror imagery, and the British band is highly entertaining if one isn't offended by sick humor. Conceptually, A New Dawn for the Dead is a throwback to a time before death metal/black metal was dominated by Scandinavian bands -- and while many of the Nordic outfits that emerged in the '90s and 2000s ...
| | Cannibal Corpse Kill CD (2006)
Only Tools And Corpses CD music
$10.35 One of the most infamous and censored death metal bands ever, Cannibal Corpse celebrates their 10th album with one titular sentiment: KILL. That's pretty much what it does, too. KILL reminds us who put the death in death metal, combining relentless and intense sounds with lyrics that couple Grand Guignol thrills with slasher-film imagery. Wiry, almost progressive time and tempo shifts choke out the intense riffage and bend it into dramatic extremes, as evidenced on "Five Nails in the Neck" and the assaultive introduction of "Brain Removal Police," exacting and technical in its delivery, much like the rest of the album. Designed ...
| | Langley Schools Music Project Innocence & Despair CD (2001)
Only Tools And Corpses music CDs
$14.09 The Langley Schools Music Project INNOCENCE & DESPAIR comprises 1970s recordings performed by a grade school vocal ensemble singing the hits of the day (and other famous rock songs), under the direction of ensemble leader Hans Fenger.
Recorded in 1976 and 1977. Includes liner notes by Irwin Chusid and Hans Fenger.
When it was reissued in 2001, this private-press recording of a 1970s British Columbia elementary school band and choir became a hipster must-have, largely due to its quirky backstory. But the album has a tangible sonic appeal that transcends its colorfully quaint origins. Listening to the massed voices of these grade-school kids singing in unison on bare-bones, lo-fi arrangements of `60s and ...
