Carmen: A Hip Hopera Movie Review Average Rating: (4.5 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Why I Love This Movie I love this movie because Beyonce really did her thing as the sultry and seductive Carmen Brown but don't get me wrong although Ms. Dandridge had the role in the original version of my favorite love story of '01,B. really knocked it out of the park.
I'm giving kudos to Beyonce because other people can hate on her if they want but I love her and I hope to work with her someday.
One love,Mekhi holla at ya girl. Submitted by Ashley (Shreveport,La.) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 2 of 2 found this helpful.
hiphopera carmen This is an amazin remake, the casting is great, especially the beautiful and talented beyonce' as carmen brown if ever was a woman that no man can resist it's her. i love this movie i saw it like a million times. every thing from the actors 2 the songs 2 the production is of da chain. and the additional "making of the movie" is hilarious. and even though it's a made 4 tv movie it's my favorite movie, it's beautiful, it's funny it's tragic, and it's hip-hop. original, but still falls short A hopera... I can dig that but by the time the movie reaches a climax, the characters dont sing anymore. As far as the characters are concerned, Carmen and Hill have a good chemistry as a couple, but it falls into a catergory of a high school romance gone terribly wrong. Mos Def definetly makes this movie interesting as the villian. The movie would have been spectacular if the storyline was focused more on his character rather than Carmen and Hill; Overall, good attempy by Beyonce in her first main character movie role, but in the future may I suggest a role where you don't have to show so much sexuality so you can let your true acting skills show? Carmen: A Hip Hopera review
$6.55 Neil Simon's bittersweet comedy, adapted from the Broadway hit, follows four separate stories of guests who've just checked into the swank Beverly Hills Hotel over the weekend of the Academy Awards gala. The four-part story line runs the gamut from touching introspection to outright slapstick. Bill and Hannah Warren (Alan Alda and Jane Fonda) are an angry divorced duo engaged in a nasty custody battle over their daughter. Marvin Michaels (Walter Matthau) is in town a day before his devoted wife (Elaine May) for his nephew's bar mitzvah when his brother sends him a present that is difficult to hide--a hooker. Diana Barrie (Maggie Smith) is an Oscar-nominated British actress in town for the Academy Awards with her husband, Sydney (Michael Caine), who happens to be gay. Competing doctors Willis Panama (Bill Cosby) and Chauncey Gump (Richard Pryor) have ...
