This is a 115 minute feature film DVD starring Dennis Hopp er, Gene Hackman, Barbara Hershey, and Sheb Wooley. Basketball is king in the small town of Hickory, Indiana, so local residents are outraged when the new coach makes a few unorthodox choices concerning the high school team. Based on the incredible true story of how a small-town high school's basketball team became Indiana State Champs in 1954. This film follows the controversial outsider who came to town to teach high school history and coach basketball and who was not afraid to make big waves in a small pond. Hoosiers Movie Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) Gene Hackman carried this movie... After seeing several of Gene Hackman's movies, I came to the conclusion that his best performance was in "Crimson Tide" opposite Denzel Washington. I still believe that, but the job he did on this movie is nearly as wonderful, and seems much more difficult to pull off. The reason: he all but carried "Hoosiers." His part is truly the ONLY part that anyone cares about (though the town drunk gets some good publicity). Not to overstate, but this movie, as well as Hackman, was great and deserved all the accolades it received. Submitted by a reviewer (Huntsville, AL) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Greatest basketball movie of all-time.....
...this is the movie that has it all: drama, suspense, love, hate, jealousy etc. Plus of all the basketball movies i've seen this film truly captures what basketball is all about. It's about hard work, teamwork, being disciplined physically and mentally. Today's NBA game should take note since it's lacking in all of these aspects. This movie is a journey. Gene Hackman has been in many classic movies, but this could be his pest performance. Submitted by Culture (Queens, NY) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No This review is for a different format.

Photographer: Rocky Schenck. Despite a never-ending succession of guitarists, Ozzy Osbourne never changed his basic musical attack over the years. There are slight differences between the records, with the only noticeable distinctions being the production fads of the time. Ozzmosis, his sixth solo studio album, isn't all that different from his previous two records, No More Tears and No Rest for the Wicked, largely due to the still impressive skills of guitarist Zakk Wylde. However, even Wylde's prowess is diluted by the slick, modern-rock ...

Hoosiers review
$9.65 Set in anarchic South America, THE ADVENTURERS is a thunderously charged 1970s political action-thriller. Bekim Fehmiu stars as Dax Xenos, a troubled playboy whose politico father was killed during a revolution. Searching for enlightenment, Xenos travels from woman to woman in an attempt to cope with his tumultuous childhood. After having an affair with the older and refined widow Deborah Hadley (Olivia de Havilland), he switches gears and falls for the young and sultry Sue Ann Daley (Candice Bergen). The two have a child, but when tragedy strikes and their son is killed, Xenos breaks down and leaves her, opting to seek revenge on his father's murderer, Rojo (Alan Badel).
Produced as an end note to the 1960s, THE ADVENTURERS showcases some of the more risqué social trends of the time on both a micro (infidelity, drug use, debauchery, lesbianism) and macro (totalitarianism) scale and then attempts to explain their origins. In one of his darker films, director Lewis Gilbert manages to save viewers from the pitch blackness of utter despair by serving up some of his witty British-isms. Racy nudity and the well timed appearance of Ernest Borgnine as Fat Cat come as welcome ...
