An assault on the sensibilities of a sane person, this film coldly observes the horrendous actions of a serial killer who executes random victims in various ways. HENRY PORTRAIT OF A SERIAL KILLER, loosely based on the case of Henry Lee Lucas, a confessed serial killer, is a terrifyingly intimate journey into the twisted life of a murderous psychotic. As the blank-eyed Henry (Michael Rooker) drifts from place to place, he selects victims at random, slaughters them, and captures the brutality on videotape. When he is joined by his deranged roommate, a loudmouthed ex-convict named Otis (Tom Towles), the almost unfathomably malevolent acts multiply.
John McNaughton's film, in the tradition of such classic studies of homicidal personality as PEEPING TOM and TAXI DRIVER, goes further than both of these movies in its flat refusal to tell the killer's story on anything other than the killer's terms. McNaughton is able to present the world Henry aimlessly traverses as Henry sees it--almost unendurably bleak and meaningless--and in doing so he allows his film to go as deep into the nightmarish mind of a killer as anything ever committed to celluloid. HENRY PORTRAIT OF A SERIAL KILLER was originally rated X by the MPAA. The film's distributors chose to release the film without a rating instead.

Henry Portrait Of A Serial Killer Video Henry Portrait Of A Serial Killer Movie Review Average Rating: (4.8 out of 5 stars) Whoa... This is not my typical movie. My tyupical movie is Bad Taste or The
Toxic Avenger. That said, this is one of the best movies I've never seen earlier. Screw Silence of the Lambs, this is way better. I saw this film in a room full of soldiers, and half the audience left after a disturbing sequence where Henry and Otis videotaped a family killing. If you like horror, or just plain sick stories, then get this. I cannot reccommend for the gore fans, however. Not big on blood, but still damn entertaining. Shocking movie! This movie is based originally on Henry Lee Lucus, but has been changed around a lot. It is weird how a serial killer can end up loving someone so much he kills her. The graphic scene with the Brother Otis is pretty horrific. If you are interested in serial killers, this is a good one for you to watch! Submitted by Stacey (Manteca, CA) Was This Review Helpful? One of the best psytchotic thrillers I have seen in years! Great Movie!!!!!!! The most terrifying thing about it has got to be those killings you dont see, the most actual killings you see are at the end of the movie. Henry doesn't unleash his true potential in the movie til the last few scenes. Very well acted and the sequel can't nearly compare to it. $10.35 A landmark in film history, EASY RIDER blew the studio doors open for more young directors than any film before or since, helping to create the wide-open climate that would lead to the production of many outstanding films in the 1970s. As its director, Dennis Hopper is usually given the lion's share of credit for the film's success, but the revelations of time suggest that the contributions of the late Terry Southern and, to some degree, Jack Nicholson have endowed the film with much of its residual power.
Starring Peter Fonda as Wyatt (alias Captain America) and Hopper as Billy, it traces the hippie duo's adventures as they mount their seriously chopped hogs on a journey to find the real America en route to Mardi Gras. In Arizona, they visit a commune whose members are having a tough time, and in a small Texas town they're jailed for joining a parade. But they're quickly sprung by an ACLU lawyer, the quirky, hard-drinking George Hanson (Jack Nicholson), who accepts their offer to join them on the trip to New Orleans, eager to visit the best whorehouse in the South. EASY RIDER accurately reflects the tensions and hostilities ...

$10.25 Alan Alda and Ellen Burstyn glow on screen as two people who find long, enduring love with each other despite being married to other people. A fateful meeting at a California inn leads the seemingly mismatched pair into 26-year-long affair in which they meet for only one weekend every year. Altered by the global events of the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s, skillfully displayed with film stills from the time, and by their personal challenges, the couple grows and changes as the years roll by but never loses the awe that they have found their true soul mates. The dissimilar and quirky characters of the two lovers drive the film, and both ...

Tord has a great job and a pregnant wife named Karen. Meanwhile, Even is going nowhere, certain only of his love for Karen. When Tord leaves his wife in Even's care, Karen's conflicting emotions make the trio's relationships more complicated.
