Soldier's Story DVD

This is my husband's favorite movie. We owned the vhs, but the dvd was hard to find. Thanks now we can add to our collection.

 An African American Who's Who
Great acting and performances! An excellent story about the search for a killer of a black soldier in the segregated deep South. Most incredibly it delves into the feelings of shame and self-loathing that African American's can sometimes hold about themselves. It helps explain how any little source of pride and dignity can go a long way. This movie features many black actors in their early days. The only thing I have against it is how the plot suddenly went from "we have no idea who the killer is" to "we got our man" with no intermediate steps. It's like the producers ran out of money and had to wrap things up. But that still does not take away from what an awesome movie this was!

 CLASSIC
See all the stars before they were big names; Denzel Washington, David Alan Grier, Robert Townsend just to name a few. This is the best military movie of all time. Hands down!!
