Closed Captioned; Standard Screen; Bio/Filmographies; Soundtrack English; English Subtitles; Behind The Scenes The true story of the friendship between football great Gale Sayers and cancer victim Brian Piccolo, the Chicago Bears' first interracial roommates. Gale Sayers (Williams) joins the Chicago Bears as a running back and meets the competitive Brian Piccolo (Caan). While at first the two are rivals, they soon form a strong friendship. Things take a turn for the worse when Sayers is injured and when Piccolo begins to suffer from cancer. A poignant and well-acted movie originally made for television. Winner of five Emmys, including Best Dramatic Program of the 1971-72 Season. Writer William Blinn and co-star Jack Warden were honored for their individual achievements. Both stars, James Caan and Billy Dee Williams, were nominated.
"Brian's Song" had a brief and unsuccessful theatrical release. So many people had watched it on television that there was virtually no theatrical audience.
The film's cast also features various members of the Chicago Bears as themselves, including Abe Gibron, Jack Concannon, Ed O'Bradovich, and Dick Butkus.

Brian's Song Movie Review Average Rating: (4.7 out of 5 stars) Fantastic movie This is a great true story. The friendship between these two men is awesome. They don't show this often enough on TV. Now that I have it, I can watch it as often as I want. Submitted by CricketNC52 (Parkton, NC, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
preseason tradition if there is anyone who doesnt like this movie, then i can honestly say that you must be crazy. this is one of the best movies ever made, with a wonderful display of friendship and devotion. being a chicago native, i know im not the only one who starts every football season with brians song. on the first day of the season, brians song goes in a couple hours before kickoff, watch the movie, then cheer "DA BEARS" to victory. a wonderful movie! Find out what true courage is I saw this movie for the first time when I was in the second grade. I was so impressed by Brian Piccolo's story I named my first son Bryan. This story is about a friendship between two men that crosses racial lines and shows that real friendship is color blind. This movie will make you cheer and cry. It is full of lessons about life and how if you have the drive any dream can be within your grasp. It's easy to have courage when you are healthy, but Brian shows the meaning of real courage in the fight for his life. Submitted by a reviewer (Oberlin, LA, USA) Was This Review Helpful? A Classic Story of Friendship and Life This movie is based on the true story of two men who were different but very much alike. Gale Sayers and Brian Piccolo became friends, breaking racial barriers, while playing for the Chicago Bears in the 1960's during the height of the civil rights movement. Their friendship is intensified when one of them is diagnosed with Cancer. This is a movie of courage, loyalty, love and life. No one tops Caan and Williams in this one. A "Classic" not to be missed. $9.79 One of the most heartwarming tales ever committed to film, the true story of Daniel E. "Rudy" Ruettinger (Sean Astin, THE LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy) is an underdog drama that escapes--for the most part--the pitfalls of sentimentality. Set in 1960s Joliet, Illinois, Rudy lives in a staunchly blue-collar steelworkers' community. Despite his obsession with Notre Dame and college football, Rudy goes to work in the mill alongside his father and brothers directly after his high school ...

$7.05 In this high-intensity drama, based on the novel by Tom Clancy, Ben Affleck stars as Jack Ryan, the CIA agent from Clancy's THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER, PATRIOT GAMES, and CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER. Here, Ryan is dealing with a terrifying new problem: a nuclear weapon has fallen into the hands of foreign terrorists who are determined to create a war between Russia and the U.S.
As the film begins, a South African arms dealer (Colm Feore) acquires a long-lost nuclear weapon and sells it, at great profit, to a resurgent group of fascists led by Dressler (Alan Bates), who plans to lure the U.S. and Russia into a war. Soon after, the Russian premiere dies and the relatively unknown Nemerov (Ciarán Hinds) replaces him. But U.S. president Fowler (James Cromwell) smells a rat, and calls CIA chief William Cabot (Morgan Freeman) and special agent Jack Ryan (Affleck), the junior analyst who has been researching Nemerov, into action.
THE SUM OF ALL FEARS is a powerful addition to Tom Clancy's techno-thriller series. ...

$19.89 CATCH THAT KID: Heist adventures and bank robberies are not just for adults, at least not according to Maddy (Kristen Stewart), the plucky 12-year-old star of CATCH THAT KID. Directed by Bart Freundlich, this remake of the Danish film KLATRETŘSEN, turns the heist genre on its head in an action-packed combination of SPY KIDS and MISSION IMPOSSIBLE. Maddy is a pre-teen adventure lover, determined to follow in her mountain climbing father's (Sam Robards) footsteps. Tragedy strikes when a mountain climbing injury causes him to become paralyzed and the family needs $250,000 for an experimental operation that they cannot afford. Even Maddy's mother (Jennifer Beals), a bank security systems designer, is incapable of receiving a loan from a bank where she had previously worked. Determined to save her father's life by providing the money for the operation, Maddy convinces two of her friends to help her pull off a heist on the very same bank. Together with Gus (Max Thieriot), a computer whiz, and Austin (Corbin Bleu), a mechanical genius, Maddy is ready to take on the bank, its villainous owner (Michael Des Barres) and the seemingly impenetrable bank vault suspended thirty feet in the air. The trio of pre-teens combine their skills and hatch a daredevil heist in this exciting caper led by Maddy, a savvy heroine for a new generation of fearless young women.
