13th Child: Legend Of The Jersey Devil Movie Review Average Rating: (2.2 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Disaster! Went to see this piece of crap in Cherry Hill NJ when it came out, seriously the only good thing about this movie was the audience making fun of it the entire time. Approximately 50% off the audience walked out in the first half hour and those that remained enjoyed the horrible acting, bad story (nothing to do with real JD) ...the devil was a tarantula in disguise named BRUNO!!! and the only memorable part for me was "jones has got the bones!" cause it was so freaking horrible! by far the worst movie EVER The lead role could have been played by a two year old and he/she could have done a better job then she could have. Love the rubber jersey devil, it scared Barney, not me. I serously never watched a movie as poor as this. It was filmed very well it just needs better actors. It seemed like the actors were trying way to hard. The many dead deer played their role pretty well, on the other hand, the actors did not. It was a poor representation of New Jersey folk lore, god help there souls. Ingrediants for Good Horror Flick Important ingrediants for a good horror flick are good storyline, originality, good acting, visual and special effects, and most of all a good frightful monster; and I found "13th Child to possess all of the above elements; which is the reason I gave it five stars. Good movie for the budget.......... I can say i expected more but coming from what they had it was a really good movie. From all the myths or rumors about the real thing they made it look real!! I recommend this movie to any horror fan as well as jersey devil fan!! Submitted by a reviewer (Edison nj usa) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Not the Legend They totally screwed up the legend in this movie. The jersey devil has nothing to do with spiders or snakes and it does not look anything like the devil in this movie. Also, nothing was mentioned about the Leeds family, and where did the name bruno come from? This film was poorly made and i also believe that they could have done some research on the legend instead of spreading false information.
