Forming in the 1940s, the career of the Canton Spirituals has seen them become an enduring legend among the ranks of the gospel hierarchy. A family affair, the mantle of band leader has been passed down through the generations, with Harvey Watkins, Sr. being succeeded by Harvey Watkins Jr. This live performance sees the band in fine form, taking to the stage in the hallowed surroundings of St. Mark's Missionary Baptist Church in Harvey, Illinois.
