This CD single is the sixth from U2's 1997 album, Pop. It contains three non-LP tracks, including two studio songs and one live song. The studio tracks include an amazing re-recording of "Slow Dancing" with Willie Nelson on lead vocals. This song was originally released on the Stay (Faraway So Close) single in 1993. This version is nearly a minute longer and is much improved by Nelson's vocals, which remind the listener of Johnny Cash's on Zooropa. Legend has it that "Two Shots of Happy, One Shot of Sad" was written for Frank Sinatra and that Bono sang it to him late in Sinatra's life. It is a fine attempt at a Sinatra ballad. The live track here is perhaps the most stunning U2 has ever recorded. This version of "Sunday Bloody Sunday" was recorded live in war-torn Sarajevo, and demonstrates the universal appeal of U2's music and the political causes the band supports. This CD single offers a lot to different fans. Every U2 fan needs to hear the poignant "Sunday Bloody Sunday" here, and the two non-LP songs are rare gems. ~ JT Griffith

Unlike most bands, R.E.M. operated as a democracy -- it was impossible to tell who contributed what particular part to any of their albums, but hardcore followers did realize that Berry was the driving force behind such classics as "Man on the Moon" and that without him, the band's sound would change drastically. Buck, Mills and Stipe ...

If God Will Send His Angels
$11.49 Personnel: Paul Stanley (vocals, guitar, percussion, background vocals); Paul Stanley; Andreas Carlsson (guitar, background vocals); Greg Kurstin, Zac Rae (piano); Harry "Slick" Sommerdahl (keyboards, bass guitar, programming); Russ Irwin (keyboards); Sean Hurley (bass guitar); John Shanks, C.C. White (background vocals); Corky James, John 5 (guitar); Victor Indrizzo (drums). Recording information: Henson Recording Studios, Hollywood, CA. Photographer: Neil Zlozower. Nearly 30 years after his 1978 self-titled debut, Kiss singer/guitarist Paul Stanley issued his first solo album without his signature "Starchild" make-up, LIVE TO WIN. Featuring contributions from former Kiss member Bruce Kulick (on bass) and guitarist John 5 (Marilyn Manson/Rob Zombie), the record consists largely of mid-tempo hard-rock tunes, most notably the pounding and thematically uplifting title track. Much like Meat Loaf's BAT OUT OF HELL III, released around the same time during 2006, LIVE TO WIN is a fine example of a veteran rocker refusing to rest on vintage material. Despite what some may believe, Live to Win is not Paul Stanley's solo debut. That honor goes to 1978's Paul Stanley (which was released in conjunction with solo releases by the three other Kiss members), an album so Kiss-like that the singer's full-time band could have easily stamped their logo ...
