This CD single is the sixth from U2's 1997 album, Pop. It contains three non-LP tracks, including two studio songs and one live song. The studio tracks include an amazing re-recording of "Slow Dancing" with Willie Nelson on lead vocals. This song was originally released on the Stay (Faraway So Close) single in 1993. This version is nearly a minute longer and is much improved by Nelson's vocals, which remind the listener of Johnny Cash's on Zooropa. Legend has it that "Two Shots of Happy, One Shot of Sad" was written for Frank Sinatra and that Bono sang it to him late in Sinatra's life. It is a fine attempt at a Sinatra ballad. The live track here is perhaps the most stunning U2 has ever recorded. This version of "Sunday Bloody Sunday" was recorded live in war-torn Sarajevo, and demonstrates the universal appeal of U2's music and the political causes the band supports. This CD single offers a lot to different fans. Every U2 fan needs to hear the poignant "Sunday Bloody Sunday" here, and the two non-LP songs are rare gems. ~ JT Griffith
Includes: If God Will Send His Angels (Single Version), Slow Dancing (with Willie Nelson on lead vocals), Two Shots Of Happy, One Shot Of Shot Of Sad (song written in honor of Frank Sinatra) and Sunday Bloody Sunday (Live From Sarajevo). Mofo Review

Mofo album
$10.59 The departure of drummer Bill Berry in 1997 no doubt unsettled his former R.E.M.-mates, who found themselves straddling not only creative, but personal crossroads. Rather than giving up, the remaining members of R.E.M. reinvented themselves and released UP, a stunning, eloquent album of dark vulnerability and experimentalism. The emotional disquiet Stipe evokes is nearly shocking in its plainspoken lyricism. Songs like the agonized "Sad Professor" and the wary, hypnotic "Suspicion" seem almost too naked for Stipe, who spent years cloaking his words in mumbles and misnomers. For the first time, lyrics are even included in the packaging.
"Hope" is a breathless, galloping piece of pseudo-electronica that raises the ghost of Leonard Cohen's "Suzanne" before ending in a heady roar of noise. The gorgeous jangle of "At My Most Beautiful" is pure poetry, an unabashed disclosure of Buck's giddy reverence for Brian Wilson. Although a drum machine is used at times (Beck drummer Joey Waronker and Tuatara percussionist Barrett Martin also guest on many tracks), an array of disparate sounds, from vibes to violin, infuses the songs with a newfound expressiveness. UP is unlike any other album in the band's long catalogue--a bold, brilliant spark of musical genius and genuine empathetic revelation.

Mofo CD music
$23.09 U2 burst onto the scene at the onset of the '80s with a majestic, uplifting, earnest approach and a unique textural sound that endeared them to fans and critics alike. They spent the rest of the decade growing up in public, solidifying their status as post-punk icons, marrying the good intentions of old-school alternative rock with the epic sonic scale of classic '70s rockers, never sounding less than totally original and never pausing for a hits compilation--until 1998. BEST OF offers a good representation of the complex body of work that made the band a legend.
Fittingly, the album begins with the debut's "I Will Follow," a statement of commitment to pursuing truth and spirituality despite continual and inevitable misgivings. "Desire" mates Bono's lyrical fervor with a modified Bo Diddley beat to ...
