In the wake of the Amboy Dukes scoring a hit with their psychedelic classic "Journey to the Center of the Mind," the focus of the band quickly shifted to guitarist Ted Nugent. So much so that by the early '70s, Nugent was the only Amboy Duke left from the "Journey" period. As a result, the group's name changed to Ted Nugent & the Amboy Dukes (it was Nugent's name that was drawing fans to shows), and they issued 1973's Call of the Wild and 1974's Tooth, Fang & Claw. Both oft-overlooked releases have been in and out of print over the years and reissued in countless reconfigurations and with different titles, but the more enticing package was 2004's double-disc set Decades of Destruction. Listening to both albums back to back shows that Nugent's solo career actually began a few years earlier than his first "official" solo album, 1975's Ted Nugent. After all, the sound of these two releases is very comparable to his 1975 release. Included is a track that would become a show-stopping standard at Nugent shows, "The Great White Buffalo," as well as such other tough rockers as "Lady Luck" and "Call of the Wild." While Nugent's first three solo releases for Sony (circa the mid-to-late '70s) are by far his best, for fans looking to trace the Motor City Madman's roots, Decades of Destruction is an affordable way to do so. ~ Greg Prato Decades Of Destruction Music Ted Nugent Decades Of Destruction Songs | | Decades Of Destruction CD DISC 1: |

| Decades Of Destruction Music Review Average Rating: (4.3 out of 5 stars) Nugent's fan must have Tooth, Fang & Claw & Call Of The Wild Unbelievable deal! Long since out of print and very hard to find. I've been searching for both of these albums on CD for quite some time. If your lucky you might find them on Ebay or Amazon, but they'll cost you an arm and a leg. Here you get both for under $18. Submitted by suarez_h (Algonquin, IL, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Two Hard-To-Find Albums Finally Re-Released On Cd's! Both "Call Of The Wild" and "Tooth, Fang And Claw" are Ted Nugent classics, long out-of-print on cd for years and surprise, now you get both discs housed in a digipak, nicely packaged (no liner notes though) and offered by CD Universe at an incredibly low price. Both discs sound great and although it doesn't say remastered, it sounds like it to me. Of the two cd's I prefer "Tooth, Fang And Claw" overall because it includes both "Hibernation" and "The Great White Buffalo", two of my favorite Nugent songs. Both of these albums were released prior to Ted's being signed to Epic Records in 1975. If you're an Amboy Dukes or Ted Nugent fan then pick this 2-cd set "Decades Of Destruction" up before it goes OOP. Submitted by Barry ("Hallandale Beach,Fl.,USA") Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
count the dead...here come's young ted for those who are unfamiliar with Ted Nugent before his suoerstardom/radio play rock classics, it's time to get aquainted with his real unbridled energy. "Decades of Destruction" brings together two Nugent classics, Tooth fang and claw, and " Call of the wild".
this is real Nugent, this is where his real genius lies. if you love Ted's first solo album, by all means buy this set. it's some of Ted's best work. like Nugent would always say " THIS STUFF WILL MELT YOUR SPEAKERS - INTENSE" ! Decades Of Destruction
$11.64 Personnel: Warren Haynes (vocals, guitar); Danny Louis (keyboards); Matt Abts (drums, percussion). Audio Mixers: Gordie Johnson; Warren Haynes. BY A THREAD is Gov't Mule's first studio album since HIGH & MIGHTY was issued in 2006. Since that time, bassist Andy Hess has been replaced by Jorgen Carlsson, though Hess appears on two tracks at the end of the album. Carlsson's playing style is much more aggressive than Hess', and is therefore closer - in spirit anyway - to Gov't Mule's original bassist, the late Allen Woody, though he possesses an adventurous sense of time and is harmonically more colorful than either Woody or Hess. Carlsson and drummer Matt Abst are a solid match, since Abst is a drummer used to shifting time signatures and allowing the unexpected in while still driving a band. The band's keyboardist and rhythm guitarist, Danny Louis, is a shape-shifter, playing to whatever is needed in a given track. His manner of coloring sounds inside and around a particular tune's framework is a large part of what makes Gov't Mule's sound so fresh here - despite the fact that they don't stray far from what they do best. Warren Haynes and his guitar are, as usual, front and center, his guitar screaming, ...

Decades Of Destruction
$13.75 Kings of Leon: Caleb Followill (vocals, guitar); Matthew Followill (guitar, background vocals); Jared Followill (bass instrument, background vocals); Nathan Followill (drums, background vocals). Personnel: Jacquire King , Angelo Petraglia (keyboards). Audio Mixer: Jacquire King . Recording information: Blackbird Studio, Nashville, TN. With their raw, organic sound, Tennessee's Kings of Leon emerged in 2003 as Southern rock for the indie-garage set, sort of a Strokes for the South. While there were hints of a new direction on their third album, BECAUSE OF THE TIMES, its follow-up, ONLY BY THE NIGHT, follows through with a near-reinvention of the Kings' sound. ONLY BY THE NIGHT could be mistaken for avant-indie cult heroes the Liars on a Southern vacation, as post-punk angularity, distorto-funk bass lines, and clattering percussion are processed through what sounds like the world's biggest fuzzbox. While there are old-glory moments of garagey abandon, most of these tracks sound like someone sat and carefully considered the best way to frame them. And that's the difference between making a good album and making a great one. With 2007's Because of the Times, Kings ...
