Queen's live shows have understandably always been the stuff of legend; if any man was made for the stage, it was Freddie Mercury. Flamboyant, energetic, and blessed with one of the most commanding and flexible voices in rock, Mercury led his outfit through shows that were not so much rock concerts as opera-esque events, full of drama, lights, and eye-popping costumes.

QUEEN ON FIRE: LIVE AT THE BOWL finds the band in 1982 at the height of its powers, capturing not only the vocalist in all his glory, but guitarist Brian May at his pile-driving, fleet-fingered best, and the rhythm section of Roger Taylor and John Deacon grooving with a combination of hard-rock energy and Broadway pit-band precision. Disc One showcases the group's then-current material, drawing heavily from THE GAME. A particular highlight is the completely re-worked version of "We Will Rock You" that transforms the arena anthem into a good-time party rave-up. Disc Two delivers all the big hits, from the bombastic epic "Bohemian Rhapsody" to the disco-fied Chic tribute "Another One Bites the Dust." A snapshot of a band utterly in its element, QUEEN ON FIRE is a welcome reminder of why Queen's music justified the group's towering reputation.
Queen: John Deacon , Roger Taylor , Brian May, Freddie Mercury.

What a great tribute to Freddy Mercury Finally a live Queen performance with all the trimmings - Freddy Mercury is amazing in this performance - and the crowd responds in kind
(singing the entire "Love of My Life" sans Freddy).
You can feel the searing power of the band while Freddy's operatic vocals and theatrics on stage
flow through an amazing set list. This will take you back to a time when power rock prevailed. Live is never better than studio - but this offering captures the true intensity of the band's diverse works! Submitted by tim (Fairfield, CT) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Hopefully, more in the vaults. I thought this was better than Live Killers, but not as good as Wembley.
Disc one was great. It's nice to here
something different. Somebody To Love
and Fat Bottomed Girls were great. The fast version of We Will Rock You was very good also.It would be great if could get the DVD in 05. Submitted by pakcman (Coral Springs,FL,USA.) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

really on fire!!! ok, this is no wembley, the band has its little mistakes (which is a sign of honesty) because it was recorded and published as it sounded back then. The setlist is a combination of live killers and the wembley shows, but wonderful all the way. In spite that 1982 was a tough year for the band, when they had to met their fans on stage, they forgot all the problems and just rocked as hard as they could. Overall, this is a great concert by a band which legacy is more present than eber. Dont waste more time reading this review, just add this cd to your cart right away....
