Personnel: Dax Riggs (vocals); Sammy Pierre Duet (guitar, background vocals); Mike Samchez, Mike Sanchez (guitar); Jimmy Kyle (drums); Spice (sampler); Audie Pitre (background vocals). Audio Mixer: Keith Falgout. Recording information: Festival Studios, Kenner, LA. Photographer: Jimmy K. Acid Bath's second album further establishes the band's unique Southern punk/sludge/goth metal hybrid, only with warmer, fuller production and a more melodic songwriting approach than on their debut. The songs here are stylistically all over the map, but bound together in part by frontman Dax Riggs' powerful singing and dark lyrics (filled with references to death, graveyards, and bone dust.) The opener, "Paegan Love Song," is an instantly catchy shout-along anthem that combines '70s blues-rock elements with more modern metal drumming, while "Venus Blue is a straightforward slow rock song with a sad, soaring, guitar-heavy chorus that might have almost been radio ready if not for the graphic lyrics. "Diab Soule" is more in line with their debut, shifting between raging metal sections, melancholy melodic crooning and a heavy Southern/groove rock breakdown. The closer, "Dead Girl," is an all-acoustic ballad that brings to mind Alice in Chains, but again, thanks to the lyrics, it is more disturbing and sinister than any of that band's work. A couple of the songs go on a bit longer than they need to, but on the whole, this album is still filled with strong vocal melodies, memorable riffs, and well structured songs. While their debut also had plenty of standout tracks, Paegan Terrorism Tactics gets the edge over that CD due to its better production, more consistent songwriting, and generally more confident, mature tone. ~ William York Pagan Terrorism Tactics Music Acid Bath Pagan Terrorism Tactics Songs Pagan Terrorism Tactics Music Review Average Rating: (4.9 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Dax Rules! I love this CD! I love Acid Bath in general. Dax Riggs has the most kick ass voice! Good hard core the way it should be! Submitted by ErinCKJ (Little Falls, NJ) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Excellent psychedelic NOLA sludge metal This album has been a standout in my collection for years..never gets old. There is no other record like it. If you dig this cd I highly recommend Dax in "Agents of Oblivion", deadboy and the Elephantmen" and his solo work. They are a bit lighter and more bluesy swamp jams (similar to Danzig I, II, III maybe) but they are all good and his vox get better with every release. Great Band Although I thoroughly enjoy both Acid Bath albums, this one is my favorite. It's the more accessible one, though it's still very hard & heavy. Every song is a standout track, not something easily accomplished by other bands. It's too sad these guys came to an end. They had their sh*t together, & they were true to what they were doing. As I read a quote on someone's review on another website, "Acid Bath should have been bigger than Pantera". Submitted by cb_th_101802 (B-town, MS, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Very Deep. While not as heavy as When the Kite String Goes Pop,the lyrical content of Pagan Terrorist Tactics is very extreme and deep in meaning and the music is very emotional. Over all if you liked When the Kite Sting Goes Pop you will like this Acid Bath CD also. Submitted by a reviewer (herndon, VA, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

$10.09 Acid Bath: Daxx Riggs (vocals); Mike Sanchez (guitar, tambourine); Sammy Duet (guitar, background vocals); Audie Pitre (bass, background vocals); Jimmy Kyle (drums). Personnel: Dax Riggs (vocals); Sammy Pierre Duet, Mike Sanchez (guitar, background vocals); Jimmy Kyle (drums); Audie Pitre (background vocals). Recording information: Side One, Metairie, LA, CA. They stitch together elements of death metal, '70s hard rock, thrashing hardcore punk and Black Sabbath-esque ...

Agents Of Oblivian: Dax (vocals, guitar); Mike (guitar); Chuck (piano, keyboards); Alex (bass); Jeff (drums). Recorded at Noiselab, New Orleans, Louisiana. Personnel: Dax (vocals, guitar); Chuck (piano). Recording information: Noiselab, New Orleans, LA. The first and only album by Louisiana's Agents of Oblivion is a distinct departure from the music of Acid Bath, the previous band of songwriters Dax Riggs and Mike Sanchez, though it does shed some light on that band's unique collision of styles. While fellow Acid Bath member Sammy Duet went on to pound out grinding ...

Pagan Terrorism Tactics
$23.29 At a time when most of the first wave of Norwegian black metal bands are long gone, Darkthrone has become the senior figures of this particular subgenre almost by default; they're like the Rolling Stones of death metal. And much like the Rolling Stones around the time of Some Girls and Emotional Rescue, Darkthrone now seems to be caught between staying true to their original sound and adapting to the commercial marketplace. The album's first single, "Too Old, Too Cold" is ...
