| Karaoke Superstars Music Review Average Rating: (4.3 out of 5 stars) Superchic[k] is More Than You Would Expect!!! Superchi[k]~Karaoke Superstars is very awesome. The vocals are great and it's just a fun cd to listen to. They are better than the average pop group. Awesome This is a great CD to play on a long car trip! Some people may be turned off by the label "Christian" (and therefore not true music lovers if they refuse to listen to certain types, I might add) but the fun of this album should cause people to quickly lose those misconceptions. More than Girl Pop Superchic[k]'s album is more than Christian, Rock, Pop, or girl power. Its a mix of all of them, purposefully destroying the idea of labeling the group (or movement). Although songs like One Girl Revolution are obviously about females, the whole album can be enjoyed by both male & female, christian or not. $7.99 Personnel: Mike Curb (vocals); Williams, Jr. (drums). Liner Note Author: Don Ovens. Unknown Contributor Roles: Jud Strunk; Lou Rawls; Sammy Davis, Jr. Arranger: Michael Lloyd . It's no mystery why Disneyland adopted the Mike Curb Congregation's rendition of "It's a Small World" as the official version of its theme song -- the group's clean-cut optimism and genteel style is a ringer for the pop choruses of the '60s, and bears more than a passing resemblance to their Osmond Family labelmates. The group scored most of their hits while backing other MGM artists such as Little Jimmy Osmond and Sammy Davis, Jr., but had one major ...

Recorded at Paragon Recording Studios, Chicago, Illinois. This is a DTS CD, which features DTS 5.1 Surround Sound technology and is playable on a DTS-capable 5.1 Surround Sound system. Ohio Players: Leroy "Sugar" Bonner (vocals, guitar, harmonica, percussion); Clarence "Satch" Satchell (vocals, saxophone, flute); Billy Beck (vocals, keyboards); Jimmy "Diamond" Williams (vocals, drums, percussion, flugelhorn); Marvin Pierce (trumpet, trombone, percussion); Ralph "Pee-Wee" Middlebrookes (trumpet); Marshall Jones (bass). Recorded at Paragon Recording Studios, Chicago, Illinois. After greatly increasing their visibility with Skin Tight, the Ohio Players became even more visible with Fire -- an unpredictable masterpiece that boasted such explosive horn-driven funk jewels as "Smoke" and the wildly addictive title song. The Players were always best known for their hard-edged funk, but in fact, there was much more to their legacy. "I Want to Be Free," the almost innocent "Together," and the remorseful "It's All Over" demonstrate that their ballads and slower material could be first-rate soul treasures. The influence of gospel imagery and the black church experience had asserted itself on Skin Tight's "Is Anybody Gonna Be Saved," and does so once again on the intense "What the Hell" and the hit "Runnin' From the Devil." Without question, Fire was one of the Ohio Players' greatest triumphs ...

Audio Mixer: Craig Schumacher. Photographer: Linda Pitmon. Arrangers: Chris Cacavas; Dave DeCastro; Linda Pitmon; Jason Victor. Steve Wynn continues his winning streak on Static Transmission. Ever since he rescued his lackluster solo career with the incendiary Melting in the Dark in 1996, his albums have been tough, smart, funny, and above full of living, fire-breathing soul. Static Transmission is 50 minutes of lean and nasty rock & roll with loud guitars, gritty lyrics, and a bleeding heart. The guitars howl and Wynn growls his noir lyrics like someone who knows what he is talking about. It is a strong record from beginning to end but some of the songs rank among Wynn's best to date: "Candy Machine"'s atonal live wire guitars are reminiscent of Dream Syndicate, and his words are biting and funny; "A Fond Farewell" is a loping, jagged ballad with an evil-sounding vocal and some lovely bells; and "California Style" is a classic single with ...
