This is an Enhanced CD, which contains both regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files. Kittie: Morgan Lander (vocals, guitar); Lisa Marx (guitar); Jennifer Arroyo (bass guitar); Mercedes Lander (drums). Anyone who's spent time on the hypnotizing bore that is Canada's highway 401 knows that the only antidote to waking up in a Tim Horton's parking lot is a stack of blisteringly loud records. Kittie, the London, Ontario, heavy metal sisterhood have turned up the amps to 11 and delivered their heaviest batch of songs to date with the road-ready Until the End. Steve Thompson's (Korn, Anthrax) bottom-heavy production and the addition of second guitarist Lisa Marx have had a profound effect on the band's overall sound, resulting in an aural experience that goes straight to the gut. The brutal opener, "Look So Pretty," features singer Morgan Lander doing terrifying things with her throat -- it's somewhere between an emaciated alley cat fighting off the neighborhood skunk and the squelch on a walkie-talkie. "Career Suicide" finds the group in a more melodic mood, balancing the snarling verses with a clean chorus vocal, though this balance works best on the brooding title cut. While siblings Morgan and Mercedes Lander's songwriting has improved since 2001's Oracle, there's still an air of mediocrity to later tracks like "Loveless" and "Burning Bridges" that shows an adherence to formulaic modern metal clichés, and a lack of confidence on some of the vocal takes that makes some of the songs sound like demos. Until the End isn't a big step forward for Kittie, but it's a step nonetheless, and if they can find a way to more creatively disperse their newfound power they'll be unstoppable. ~ James Christopher Monger The members of Kittie cloistered themselves in the rural Massachusetts setting of Longview Farm Studios with focused resolve, and--more importantly--the goal of reintroducing the band to extreme music fans. With producer Steve Thompson (Korn, Vibrolush) in the control room, the group returns with a raw, more thrashing, tighter sound. UNTIL THE END displays thick riffing and bursts of staccato double-bass drumming, met with a strong emphasis on death-metal vocals. However, sweet, melodic singing remains an integral element of Kittie's approach, as revealed on the chilling "Into the Darkness." This song almost sounds radio-friendly--were it not for the gut-wrenching screams soaring above. The enhanced portion of the disc includes a documentary film, giving fans access to Kittie's creative process during the album's recording sessions.Spin (p.120) - "11 tracks that are unbridled in their nihilism." - Grade: B- Kittie Until The End Songs Until The End Music Review Average Rating: (2.1 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews DISAPPOINTMENT I WAS REALLY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS CD. I THOUGHT THAT ORACLE WAS REALLY REALLY GOOD AND THEN WHEN I DISCOVERED THAT KITTIE WAS GOING TO MAKE ANOTHER ALBUM, I GOT EXCITED AND THOUGHT IT WAS JUST GOING TO BLOW MY MIND, BUT IT DIDNT. i really WANTED to like this cd this is my opinion(not like it matterz)...i really wanted Kittie to be good..they're an all girl band and i want women to make MORE a name for ourselves on the heavy music scene...or just to be a good band that brings some new complexity to the scene...but all of kittie's cds i've listened to(which is all of them) just sound/feel too half-assed, elementary, repetetive...like they just scramble to put out an image without having it in their hearts...such a let down......i'd rather watch paint dry than listen to their cds, i cant help it...i must say i AM happy that Kittie has fans, tho..i WANT them to do good...sorry, 1 star for "repetetive, un-creative, boringness"....p.s. Milli Vanilli, and Ashlee Simpson stood up on stage infront of MILLIONS of their fans(way more fans than Kittie will ever have)...doesnt make them musical geniuses... Until The End
$6.75 Live Recording
Alice In Chains: Layne Staley, Jerry Cantrell (vocals, guitar); Michael Starr (bass); Sean Kinney (drums). Additional personnel: Tom Araya (background vocals). Recorded in 1992. Dirt is Alice in Chains' major artistic statement and the closest they ever came to recording a flat-out masterpiece. It's a primal, sickening howl from the depths of Layne Staley's heroin addiction, and ...
| | VH1 Presents The Corrs Live In Dublin CD (2002)
Until The End
$6.39 The Corrs: Jim Corr (vocals, guitar, keyboards); Sharon Corr (vocals, violin); Andrea Corr (vocals, tin whistle); Caroline Corr (vocals, drums, bodhran, percussion). Recorded at Ardmore Studios in Dublin, Ireland in January 2002. You knew the Corrs had made it when they played the final JFK Awards ceremony of the Clinton administration. Playing it would have been achievement enough, but their status as a happening thing was cemented at the end of the ceremony, during the encores, when everybody was taking their final bows. Bill moseyed up over to Andrea, put his arm around her, and when she was looking away, sized ...

| | Korn Greatest Hits Vol. 1 CD (2004)
Until The End
$9.75 This release includes a bonus DVD. Korn: Jonathan Davis (vocals, bagpipe); Brian Welch, James Shaffer (guitar); Fieldy (bass guitar); David Silveria (drums). A decade after changing the metal landscape drastically with their self-titled debut juggernaut, Korn got the best-of treatment just as their standing began to seem increasingly shaky, commercially at least. Greatest Hits, Vol. 1 sadly isn't the disc it ideally could be, but it nonetheless summarizes how steady Korn were over the years, developing their sound oh so slightly from one album to the next and, in the process, coming up with several unquestionably killer songs every go-round. The band's six full-lengths ...
