Closed Captioned; Soundtrack English; Soundtrack French; English Subtitles In this adaptation of the third book in J.K. Rowling's best-selling series, Harry Potter (Danielle Radcliffe) and his best friends Hermoine (Emma Watson) and Ron (Rupert Grint), must face the dangerous convict Sirius Black (Gary Oldman), who has ties with their enemy Lord Voldemort. The spectacular fantasy-adventure action of the earlier movies (SORCERER'S STONE and CHAMBER OF SECRETS) is once again presented here, as Alfonso Cuaron lends his unique directorial style to recreating Rowling's magical story on celluloid. A scarier, darker story than the first two, this one concerns the mystery behind why Sirius Black is tracking Harry Potter. Slowly Harry and his friends unravel the clues, and learn secrets about Harry's parents that had all along been hidden from him. Meanwhile, because the deranged Sirius poses a threat to all students at Hogwarts, the school enlists a group of daunting black ghosts called Dementors to stand guard. These flying ghouls have a powerful effect on Harry and frighten him to his core. Yet even these chilling obstacles don't dampen the spirits of the youthful wizards, who meet Buckbeak--a giant flying hawk-horse creature, welcome a new dark arts teacher (David Thewlis) and a new divination teacher (Emma Thompson), and are still determined to beat the rival Slytherin team in Quidditch. HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN offers a visually stunning interpretation of the revered book, and will thrill viewers with its special effects, it's penetrating John Williams score, and its superb performances. Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban Reviews: "[T]he first movie in the series with fear and wonder in its bones, and genuine fun, too....The whole movie zips along with a matter-of-fact cleverness that stays a step ahead of you."-- Owen Gleiberman, Entertainment Weekly "Not only is this dazzler by far the best and most thrilling of the three Harry Potter movies to date, it's a film that can stand on its own..."
-- Peter Travers, Rolling Stone "This is surely the most interesting of the three Potter movies....It feels at once more dangerous, more thoroughly enchanted and more real."-- A. O. Scott, New York Times "The magic here works not just on the level of weird and wonderful ghosts and monsters but through a series of haunting images that draw attention to key themes and a breadth of imagination..."
-- Vicky Wilson, Sight and Sound "Alfonso Cuaron directs for mood, and the result is the most satisfying HARRY to date."-- Mike Clark, USA Today "[Cuaron] brought a new style and intelligence to Hogwarts."-- Susan King, Los Angeles Times Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban Video Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban Movie Review Average Rating: (4.1 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Great I'm a Fan & so is my kids. Great movie with a few flaws. Well for all Harry Potter fans old and young alike, this is another great installment. The movie itself is almost a perfect reprensentation of the book. Sadly the Prisoner of Azkaban was one that I wasn't overly impressed with. All in all it was too corney and predictable compared to some of Rawlings other works. As for the movie itself the acting is top notch, they did a great job in replaceing Dumbledores actor. The music is the same fare, but why change something that doesnt need changing. If it wasnt for the predictable storyline I would have given it a 5. But then again, the movie is a 5, its the book thats mediocore.. so it depends on how you look at it. Harry Potter scores an A+ Best of the three films yet! Great DVD with great extras, like interviews with differnet members of the cast, not just the main three, Magic you may have missed and more.
Beautiful scenery and great storytelling, Cuaron does a fantastic job taking the most important elements from the book and keeps the movie extremely entertaining. It will take several viewings to catch loads of things you missed going on in the background. Wonderful attention to detail that you didn't quite get from the first two films - highly recommend to anyone, preferrably if they have seen the first two films. Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban DVD In Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry, Ron and Hermione, now teenagers, return for their third year at Hogwarts, where they are forced to face escaped prisoner, Sirius Black, who poses a great threat to Harry. Harry and his friends spend their third year learning how to handle a half-horse half-eagle Hippogriff, repel shape-shifting Boggarts and master the art of Divination. They also visit the wizarding village of Hogsmeade and the Shrieking Shack, which is considered the most haunted building in Britain. In addition to these new experiences, Harry must overcome the threats of the soul-sucking Dementors, outsmart a dangerous werewolf and finally deal with the truth about Sirius Black and his relationship to Harry and his parents. With his best friends, Harry masters advanced magic, crosses the barriers of time and changes the course of more than one life. Directed by Alfonso Cuaron and based on J.K. Rowling 's third book, this wondrous spellbinder soars with laughs, and the kind of breathless surprise only found in a Harry Potter adventure.

Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban review
$15.44 NORTH BY NORTHWEST is a suspense thriller that finds Cary Grant in the role of Roger Thornhill, a Manhattan advertising executive mistaken for a spy. Considered by many to be the prototypical pure action movie (creating the template for later James Bond and Indiana Jones films), the film is a cross-country roller-coaster ride with Alfred Hitchcock at the helm. The film is duly famous for several classic and indelible scenes, including the ...
