The lyrics are really meaningful and Phil Collins has done a fantastic job with all of these songs. This really is a tribute to completely brilliant music! 5 out of 5 stars No regrets of buying this CD New track - True Colors is the Cyndi Lauper remake. Instrumentation is so-so. It may not contain all of the hits gathered into this collection that diehards want but it stands as the test of time for casual listeners. 5 out of 5 stars The man has power! This is an amazing album - one of Phil's best. The songs are all breathtaking! Phil has one of the most powerful, yet emotionally-conveying male voices I've ever heard. "Against All Odds" has such an effect on me whenever I hear it. There's so much substance behind his voice it sends chills down my spine. I'd recommend this album to anyone, even if they're not a big Phil Collins fan! | (0) |

5 out of 5 stars A good all-around, but not all of the pie A good way to tell a great artist from a good artist is what stuff goes on their "Greatest Hits" or "Hits" discs. If merely some of the hits makes it, then you know that they are great, because they've got too many hits to put them all on one disc. Such is the case with Phil Collins. He has assembled an amazingly stellar list of his songs here, but they are only the tip of the iceberg. There were at least five or ten other hits that never made it onto this album, probably because of the capacity of the CD. For instance, the amazing ballad with Sting, "Long Long Way To Go", along with "Don't Lose My Number", a hit in its own right, both from Phil's Album "No Jacket Required", are strangely absent, even though they are famous songs in their own right. And what about his latter-day hits? There's gonna have to be another "...Hits" disc sometime in the future just to keep up with this guy. In the meantime, you can get hooked onto Phil Mania with this disc, which is very, very good. Get it while you can, before Phil decides to renovate it or make another disc with all the stuff he missed with this one. By Galen (Anchorage, Alaska) | (0) |
