Simply the best This is U2's best album by far. U2 were able to re-invent themselves and evolve yet you can still tell it's them! Every song is a masterpeice. Great guitar and lyrics are featured throughout the album. My favorite songs are "Even Better Than The Real Thing" "One" "Wild Horses" "The Fly" and "Ultraviolet Light" These songs also sound so good live. Keep up the good work U2. What is wrong with you people? This album rocks!! The people who ay this album stinks simply don't have ears. "Vertigo" is such an exciting song that really gets you pumped. The Edge's guitar in "Miracle Drug": is excellent. "Sometimes" is a masterpeice of a ballad with such heartfelt and passionate lyrics. "Blinding Lights" is such a strong song that speaks of New York after September 11. "All Because of You" is pure rock and roll excitement. "Yaweah" has such great lyrics and the music is so appropriate for those lyrics. This album is simply graet from start to finish.
Come on people, this may not be U2's greatest record, but it certainly is one of the best. It's definitely worth buying. Submitted by a reviewer (North Providence RI) 10/27/2005
great from start to finish on Achtung Baby, U2 evolved and changed from their '80's sound but still remained one of the greatest rock bands of all time. "Even better then the real thing" has some of the best guitar riffs I have ver heard. It's a song that gets you pumped. "One" may very well be the best song U2 ever wrote. It is such a powerful ballad. "The Fly" and "Mysterious Ways" are the result of pure musical genius. To be honest I would be here all night if I typed all the positive thoughts I have on every song. Each and every track is a masterpeice. That is not something that can be said very often about any album from any band anywhere. No wonder it won grammy awards. A masterpeice This album was probably U2's best work. Although Achtung Baby comes pretty close for me. "Where the streets have no name" and 'I still haven't found what I'm looking for" are (for me anyway) tracks about man's constant and never ending search for a relationship with God. They probably are the two best tracks on the record. You just can't beat the power of Bono's lyrics combined with Adam's bass guitar, Larry's superb drums and of course the musical genius we call The Edge.
"With or without you" is a beautiful ballad full of emotion and power. "Bullet the ble sky" is a true rock and roll song and has the most muscle on the album. the bass on 'In God's country is so pleasing to the ear. Finally "Exit" is just one of those songs that I love to drive 100 miles/hour to on the highway as the music just gets so intense!
This album has to be among one of the greatest ever made in the history of Rock. it is a must for any Rock and Roll fan. Submitted by a reviewer (North Providence RI USA) 10/25/2005
