I wish there were more prolific writers songwriters like Jeff Mangum are few and far between. Writers with something to say. Well versed in literature and art, multiple instruments and born with a sense of rhythm and melody. I think it is very important for songwriters to be educated, because songwriters have had more of an impact on how i see the world than any teacher or law, and virtually anything else short of my Parents. Many of us learn the value of life from music because it transcends the conscious mind and can impart ideas and ideals into our subconscious mind.
Jeff Mangum teaches that life is melancholy. Nothing more, nothing less. There is no judgment, no holier than thou attitude or statements, just a quiet pride and a gentle sternness reminding us we are human. Submitted by a reviewer (San Diego, CA, USA) 5/12/2007
