Linda Ronstadt Don't Cry Now (1973)
Polished and strongLinda Ronstadt continues her rise to fame with 10 cuts, all sharing a strong style — rock with country leanings. Where Silk Purse was spare and direct, Don't Cry Now is filled out with smoother arrangements and plenty of steel guitar. Her voice cuts cleanly through the instruments, and you know she means every word she sings. It's a solid rock on her path to greatness. Submitted by a reviewer (Gilbert,) 7/17/2007

Linda Ronstadt Silk Purse (1970)
Bold and brightA strong album with Linda in full voice, Silk Purse is confident and direct. Leaning toward the country side of rock and blues, only "Long Long Time" is misplaced — not that it isn't fine, but is a beautifully embroidered sow's ear in this otherwise fine, raw, silk purse. No caveats required in recommending this album: if you like Linda, you'll like Silk Purse. Submitted by a reviewer (Gilbert, AZ, USA) 7/16/2007
