Everlast Whitey Ford Sings the Blues (1998) Top Seller
What it's likeI am not into rap or hip-hop. The occaisional tune seeps into my listening world from the bumpin' car in the next lane or through neighborhood. My nephew gave me a tape with a "check it out"attached. Obviously, I thought enough to purchase the CD. The lyrics, musical content, and production values of this CD are awesome. What it's like, Endz, and Everlast's "love songs" stand up with anyone's comments on the world condition and music's favorite topic.
If you are not a rap fan, check it out. Submitted by a reviewer (San Diego, Ca., USA) 4/26/2003

John Prine In Spite of Ourselves (1999) Top Seller
In spite of . . .Without the use of "star power" this collection of duets is wonderful. The contrast of Prine and Iris Dement, the rumble of Prine with the nightengale of Emmylou, and the timelessness of Melba Montgomery and Prine working the familiar tunes of my youth is exquisite.
The older tunes flow as though they were his own, and each is a gem.
I was excited at the first listening, and am still with each time I put it in the player. Submitted by a reviewer (San Diego, Ca, USA) 4/26/2003
