There's no shortage of live Jimmy Buffett recordings, but that's just how the Parrotheads like it. LIVE IN ANGUILLA (2007) conjures the breezy, tropical ease of Buffett's music especially well, given that it documents Buffett and band performing outside at Rendezvous Bay on Anguilla in the Caribbean. The hefty package contains two CDs of music and a DVD of the concert (recorded in high definition and featuring surround sound), both of which include many of Buffett's hits and fan favorites. Sun, sea, sand, and good-time music coalesce on this thoroughly enjoyable set.
This 2-CD/1-DVD set features live performances from Jimmy's Caribbean shows at the Dune Preserve, Rendezvous Bay in Anguilla, on March 23 and 24 of 2007. Jimmy Buffett Live In Anguilla Songs Live In Anguilla Music Review Average Rating: (3.7 out of 5 stars)   Not really a live Parrothead experience but ok.
His Live at Fenway Park and Live in Hawaii discs truly capture the excitement of Buffett live. This disc while a good listen is much too relaxed and toned down and not typical of his live performances. Nice rare album cuts not ususally performed live do make this disc one to own for Parrotheads.

Good but not great!
Jimmy Buffett certainly has his place in the cultural music scene. I am a fan. Too many times on this cd/dvd however, Jimmy starts out on what is seemingly going to be a great song performance, only to be broken up by laughing and clowning with the crowd. It becomes a bit of a let down after a while of listening and watching. Jimmy's songs are strong and cleaver and I think they deserve to be performed with more attention. If you can look past the poor attenion to song quality from Jimmy (the band is great) the atmosphere of a Jimmy Buffett concert down-island is still somewhat entertaining.
