Moods For Piano album. This box set packages together three albums by yoga instructor Wai Lana that also have been released separately. Yoga Sound and Yoga Music of the Heart, both originally issued in 1998, are music albums actually co-credited to Lana and her guru, Siddha (short for Jagad Guru Siddhaswarupananda Paramahamsa). Lana and Siddha came up with melodies that were then realized as musical performances by several musicians, principally Eddie Hansen. Yoga Sound often boasts a conventional pop sound, as Lana and Siddha sing Sanskrit mantras and even occasionally recite philosophical remarks in English. Yoga Music of the Heart contains more exotic instrumentals, including tracks influenced by traditional Chinese music. The music on the two discs has served as background music for Lana's yoga television programs and home videos. Wai Lana's Rest and Relax is an instructional disc on which Lana provides two spoken-word lessons on breathing and body relaxation, followed by a 28-and-a-half-minute ambient musical piece meant to accompany meditation. ~ William Ruhlmann
