Upon coronation, Bradwen is beset by a curse caused by ancient crimes, and must return to Arden and Avalon to rectify the situation and restore peace to the kingdom. As in the original game, *'s Knights II: The Secret of Merlin offers two paths for the main character. As a Celtic Knight, Bradwen embraces druid beliefs with Merlin as his mentor and fairies as allies, while his adventure as a Paladin Knight is Christian-based with Roman traditions. Both paths require full compliance with the Code of Chivalry,and feature his aide Corwyn who provides hints and assistance. Gameplay features an inventory system, conversational clues, exploration of several regions, and limited combat (Bradwen cannot initiate combat unless provoked or attacked).
