Winning Eleven: Pro Evolution Soccer 2007 Games Review Average Rating: (3 out of 5 stars) Konami rip-off consumers with dire game One of the main reasons i bought an xbox 360 was so i could play PES6. I had hoped that this time round Konami would have eradicated all the flaws in the previous games in the PES series and created a genuinely good soccer sim.
However, to my disgust PES6 is by far the worst of the series. It is blatantly clear that Konami have spent no time, effort or money developing the game, and are relying on the success alone of previous editions to lure gamers into purchasing this farcically bad title.
The fact that Konami are even allowed to put this dross game on the market let alone the cheek, is quite disturbing. The flaws in this game are plentiful, spanning the rediculous to the just plain rude!
Here are just a few (in no particular order)....
1. There is NO 'Create a player' mode. Therefore you cannot create yourself let alone any other characters that you may wish. This is a huge and integral part of any sports sim. The fact that it was in all the previous PES's, just highlights the lack of effort Konami have made with this game.
2. The gameplay is shocking! You can only move in 8 directions, which in this day of analogue controls is just pathetic. Controlling the players is like trying to manouevre double-decker buses around an ice rink. Basically its the same game engine used in football games on the spectrum 128k. Can be quite easily played on a keyboard.
3. The graphics are abysmal, the players look like plastic caracatures of their actual selves. The pitches are ugly and the crowd is weak.
4. There are many aspects of the game which are in the ps2 version which have been taken out of the xbox 360 version. Lazy and rude!
5. Fake team, stadium, cup, league names that you cant change.
6. Lack of special moves, there isnt even a normal tackle button. The best method for tackling is to just run into people. Pathetic!
The game is pure rot! if you buy it you are basically funding these rip-off merchants to make millions out of producing yet more half-arsed titles.
