DVD. Feature film. Stars Sam Rockwell & Kathleen Quinlan. R ated R. Mischa Barton makes a sparkling screen debut in this fresh and lively urban fairy tale. Barton plays Devon, a new transplant, along with her uptight parents, to the even more uptight suburbian utopia of Camelot Gardens, a closed-in, upper-class neighborhood that might be anywhere in America. The highly imaginative ten-year-old has no friends, and instead lives through her fantasies. Yet, when she travels outside the walls of the Gardens and ends up at the trailer of Trent Burns (Sam Rockwell), a poor eccentric who mows her family's lawn, a friendship blossoms. When tragedy strikes the dog of a local bully, their secret relationship is made public and the community explodes. Rockwell gives a thoroughly funny, engaging performance as the outcast Trent, and makes his bond with the younger Devon seem honest, heartfelt, and beautiful. LAWN DOGS is a thoughtful and heartwarming tale of a friendship that defies the rules of class or age. Youngster Devon (Mischa Barton) is transplanted by her parents into an uptight gated community, Camelot Gardens. The lonely and imaginative ten-year-old girl escapes the confines of her new "community" and makes friends with an isolated eccentric, Trent (Sam Rockwell), who lives in a trailer on the outskirts of town. Trent mows the lawns of Devon's family and is looked down upon by the upper-class denizens of Camelot Gardens. When their secret friendship is revealed the community explodes, unable to understand the innocent bond between the two outcasts.
"What you piss in is yours for life."--Trent (Sam Rockwell) to Devon (Mischa Barton)
"A popular girl is never bored. Or boring."--Morton Stockard (Christopher McDonald) to Devon
"The way I see it, you have people who own lawns and people who mow them. And they are never the same."--Trent to Devon
"I don't like children. They smell like TV."--Devon

Lawn Dogs Is A Fun Movie Lawn Dogs Is A Fun Movie. I really enjoyed Lawn Dogs about a 10 year old girl who becomes secret friends with a 21 year old boy. I love watching Mischa Barton in movies. A few of Her sceans was weird and funny such as, putting a toy gun in a little boys mouth and telling him that he would be doing the community a favor, peeing on her dad's car windshield and smearing it with the wippers, killing a chicken, running over a dog with her friend Trent in the truck and killing it, Shooting a man in the gun with her dads gun, and pointing the gun at her dad and threating to shoot him. I am proud of this movie. It was filmed in my home state, Kentucky and I know everyone will love Lawn Dogs too. Submitted by movieman102002 (Littcarr, KY) Was This Review Helpful? $10.29 Bobby Kent (Nick Stahl) is not a nice guy. He beats up his "best friend" Marty every chance he gets, he abuses Marty's girlfriend Lisa, and he rapes Lisa's friend Ali. From director Larry Clark (KIDS) and screenwriter David McKenna (AMERICAN HISTORY X) comes this gruelling thriller based on the true story of Bobby Kent, a bossy Florida teenager who was beaten to death by a group of his peers.
There isn't a lot to do in the suburban Florida town that Bobby and his "friends" inhabit. They play violent shoot-em-up video games, they work at the Pizza Hut, they go surfing at the beach, and they cruise in their hot rods. But mostly, Bobby and his friends have lots of sex. The film is drenched in graphic shots of barely legal naked teenagers. (This has been Clark's favorite subject matter since his days as a photographer, as illustrated in his 1997 book TEENAGE LUST.) Sexual identity is an undercurrent in Bobby's story: he watches gay porn while he rapes Ali, and he forces Marty to dance with him at a gay club. Some of the other teenagers think that Bobby and Marty are a couple. But this is a minor issue. They decide to kill Bobby because he's a bully who has hurt and angered them; and because they're bored and desensitized to violence. In BULLY, Clark provides another ...

$11.99 Adapted from Frank Miller's graphic novels, SIN CITY is Robert Rodriguez's striking film noir infused with fantasy, taking place in a world where it is eternally nighttime and everything is drenched in rain and violence. Using a unique combination of silvery black and white digital photography with occasional flashes of bright color for dazzling punctuation, Rodriguez employs green screen techniques and paints a backdrop around each scene, using Miller's co-direction as his cue to match the original setting as closely as possible. Three stories weave together, occasionally overlapping. With lines delivered flatly in the hard-boiled style of Raymond Chandler, these tales are about crime, love, loss, and being preternaturally ...
