In the Bronx, circa 1950, a police officer's (Dutton) son is arrested for the murder of a white boy. His brother, John, a lawyer, agrees to defend him, but quickly realizes Charles Jr is not telling the truth. Meanwhile, John and Charles take criticism from their younger brother, a jazz musician, who accuses his brothers of following the course whitey has laid down for them. The investigation leads John to a conspiracy that goes beyond the police, and he soon begins to reassess how he looks at himself and his country. -- Janet Maslin, New York Times Blind Faith Movie Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) Respect & Acceptance I found "Blind Faith" to be very compelling. All of the actors were brilliant. I found this movie to quite touching. It is so sad, lonely and unfortunate that society places stigmas on people for being themselves. I can relate to Charlie, Jr. in every aspect of his life. I'm 38 y/o and I still don't have half the courage as he does to accept who I really am. I admired him. Submitted by a reviewer (Atlanta, GA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

$10.15 One of John Ford's most cherished projects, THE QUIET MAN took years to finance but became one of his greatest box-office successes and an enduringly beloved classic. John Wayne stars as Sean Thornton, a retired American boxing champion trying to put tragedy behind him by returning to Innisfree, the bucolic Irish village of his birth. He purchases his birthplace from its current owner, enraging the wealthy and bellicose Red Will Danaher (Victor McLaglen), who had designs on the property. On arriving at his cottage, Thornton finds it being swept out by Mary Kate Danaher (Maureen O'Hara), a redheaded vision from whom he steals a not completely unwelcome kiss. After engaging in a subterfuge involving a horse race, some of the locals manage to get the disgruntled Red Will to allow his sister to be courted by the American. But the ...

$9.79 Tom Selleck stars in this television movie adaptation of Robert B. Parker's novel as New England police chief Jesse Stone. After a serious gig as a top homicide detective in Los Angeles, Stone settles in a small town along the coast of Maine where he leads a relatively simple life. In the predominantly crime-free town of Paradise, Stone tries to minimize the drama in his life by drinking heavily, avoiding his bitter ex-wife, and keeping his new, younger girlfriend at a safe distance. But things for Stone and the other inhabitants of Paradise are thrown into chaos when a dead body ...

$10.39 WILD ANGELS: The Hells Angels ride in this cool, downbeat biker film from B-movie godfather Roger Corman. A pre-EASY RIDER Peter Fonda stars as Heavenly Blues, the Angels' black-leather-clad leader. When his friend Loser (Bruce Dern) gets shot by the cops, he and the Angels bust him out of the hospital, but he dies and they end up trashing his funeral in a drunken orgy. Corman turns it all into a sort-of Western, capturing a nicely elegiac tone as he portrays--without judgment--the lifestyle of these modern outlaws. He even predicts the death of countercultural hedonism before many people were even aware it existed. American social leaders were outraged ...
