Top of the line animation with an action packed story line, Ninja Scrolls truly one of the great anime films to date. The only thing i was dissapointed at was the length of the movie, i felt it should of highlighted some of the villians. The fight scences where also too short considering the fact that there were 8 demons of Kimon, and for all that to fight in a hour thirty minute movie is absurd. I think it would of been more popular as a series. The story is still pretty cool, and the characters are very imaginative. Yoshiaki Kawajir creates a whole new world with its own set of rules. My recommendation is BUY THIS DVD.

Ninja Scroll is definetly one of the best animes on the market. Despite it's age it still has great animation and a nice story line. I'd rate it 9 on a scale of 10, 10 being the highest.

To the first comment, you really should do some research before buying ANY kinda of anime for someone under 18.
Ninja Scroll is one of the best full length anime movies you can find out there. Excellent artwork and a great story keep me watching it over and over again. LOVE IT!

The feature film debut of Hayao Miyazaki (NAUSICAÄ OF THE VALLEY OF THE WIND, PRINCESS MONONOKE), THE CASTLE OF CAGLIOSTRO depicts one adventure of the master thief Lupin and his rough-around-the-edges gunman, Jigen. Something of a cross between Batman, James Bond, and Cary Grant's character in TO CATCH A THIEF, Lupin is a suave ladies' man who is also given to feats of athletic daring, aided by a gadget filled belt that gets him out of more than a few scrapes. The plot has Lupin and Jigen traveling to the sleepy little country of Cagliostro and coming to the aid of the unwilling fiance of the diabolical Count Cagliostro. After CAGLIOSTRO, Miyazaki stopped creating "slapstick" feature films in favor of more serious fare; CAGLIOSTRO shows, however, that he is quite capable of delivering the goods in this genre. Based on the Lupin comics by the artist Monkey Punch, CAGLIOSTRO is a great heist/chase film that surpasses most similar live action fare and breezes by with more than a couple of inventive set pieces, as well as some excellent comic dialogue.
