54 Movie Review Average Rating: (4.5 out of 5 stars) Absolutley Fabulous This movie is so awesome! Very well written. One of the movies you can watch over and over again! Submitted by nickerichsen (Dallas, TX, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Do you have the look? If you have never heard of or never had the chance to go to Club 54 this is your ticket inside, Deep inside. Because the only way to get into this Nightclub was to have the right look, once inside it is an adult playground with everyone who is anyone and more. People would wait in line all night just to be told the Nightclub is now closed try again tommorow. They would come back the next day and do it all over again only with a different look thinking this would get them in, sometimes it worked sometimes it didnt. The only person who decided who got in and who didnt was the owner of the Nightclub Steve Rubell(Mike Myers)who gives an oscar worthy performance. This is a must see movie for anyone who loves to party or just wants to hang out with the so called IN CROWD. This is your only chance as Club 54 no longer exsists in the original manner it started out as,if it even exists at all anymore. Buy it now before the DVD disappears just like Club 54 did. Surprisingly good I didn't think this movie was good, I just got it 'cause I was curious, but I enjoyed it. It's much better than I thought. I'm not crazy over the disco era but Studio 54 is legend and the music will make you move your feet. Submitted by zl177 (Italy) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

$7.99 Gluttony, greed, sloth, envy, wrath, pride, and lust--these are the seven deadly sins that are being punished with unimaginable cruelty and calculation by an enigmatic killer in David Fincher's bleak thriller SEVEN. Set in a perpetually gloomy unnamed city, the film follows Somerset (Morgan Freeman), a retiring police detective, as he experiences his final week on the job, reluctantly working with assertive newcomer Mills (Brad Pitt). When an obese man is found brutally murdered in his home, the seasoned Somerset realizes this is no ordinary killing--someone tortured him because of his appetite. Slayings that reflect the sins of greed and sloth soon follow, leading Somerset and Mills on a desperate search to find the mysterious John Doe, who is responsible for these methodical murders. As the case builds to a startling conclusion, both Somerset and Mills become more involved than they ever could have imagined.
After a brief opening scene, SEVEN immediately cuts to a highly stylized title sequence. An intricate collage of books and photos, scissors and razors, and blood and skin eerily captures the dark, graphic tone of Fincher's intriguing mystery. The film cleverly avoids depicting most acts of violence onscreen, focusing instead on the cryptic remains of the crimes, allowing viewers to investigate along with the detectives. An example of nearly flawless filmmaking, the movie features a meticulously crafted screenplay, brilliant photography and design, sure-handed direction, and excellent performances ...

$7.99 Cedric the Entertainer (JOHNSON FAMILY VACATION, BARBERSHOP) stars as Jake, a bumbling amnesiac, in the spy-parody caper CODE NAME: THE CLEANER. Waking up next to a dead FBI agent and a briefcase full of money, and with flashbacks to his combat training, Jake suspects he's actually an undercover operative. He comes into contact with numerous characters who add to his confusion: Diane (Nicollette Sheridan), a blond bombshell claiming to be his wife; Gina (Lucy Liu), a feisty waitress who insists she's his girlfriend; and employees of a computer technology company who are adamant that he's a janitor. The film escalates into a race against the clock--while piecing his past together Jake realizes he holds a valuable secret and must thwart a group of dangerous agents who are after him.
Fun for the whole family, CODE NAME: THE CLEANER includes some hilarious moments and showcases Cedric's endearing comic appeal as the anti-James Bond. Liu (KILL BILL, CHARLIE'S ANGELS) gets to show off her well-known fighting moves and DeRay Davis (SCHOOL FOR SCOUNDRELS) is a scene stealer as a fast-talking janitor/wannabe-rapper. Although the plot drags a bit, there is plenty of ...
