Although he's no longer a criminal, his former crime boss asks him to threaten a young man, so that he won't come to Denver. Since the money's good, Jimmy agrees, and contacts his old gang of eccentric characters for help. But when the guys attempt to carry out their plan, things go seriously wrong -- and suddenly Jimmy and company find themselves marked for death... A suave, reformed hit man who never killed anybody is forced into just one more job when his former boss gives him an offer he can't refuse. Though he just met the girl of his dreams he acquiesces and gets his rag-tag team together, but they botch the job and incur the wrath of the boss, who sets an actual killer on their trail. A blackly comedic suspense thriller. Released theatrically in the USA December 1, 1995 for a limited engagement. The film grossed $477,564 domestically.

you have to watch this movie twice,uninterrupted to get all the great dialouge.perfect casting (garcia's best role. walken,forsythe,jack warden as the old timer-narrator,forget about it!
not to mention the perfect gabrielle anwar. too bad every gangster movie fan has'nt seen this movie."jimmy, you're noble".

Riveting
You can't turn away from this thriller, from its opening scene in the schoolyard to the final climactic scene. All the actors are superb (even Christopher Walken in a way too short role). While there is plenty of violence in this film, it is more chilling than gory. Not your formula type ending, which is always a plus.

Despite some lags and a cast of the most abnormal characters put into a mob-type movie, Fleder succeeds in creating a world where redemption is impossible and good intentions cost "The Saint" his life. Look for Treat Williams in his pre-"Everwood" Colorado role.
