Closed Captioned; Soundtrack English; Soundtrack French; Dir/Cast Commentary The great Vincent Price stars in this quintessential adaptation of the Edgar Allan Poe story. Hopeful Phillip (Mark Damon) rides up to the crumbling Usher estate to pick up his betrothed, Madeline (Myrna Fahey), and is coldly received by her brother, Roderick (Price). A most unwilling host, Roderick suffers from "morbid acuteness of the senses" and is convinced their family lineage--and the very house itself--is cursed by the evil deeds of their forebears. He is sworn to do everything in his power to keep his sister from leaving with Phillip--even burying her alive--to stop her from continuing their damned lineage.
Roger "King of the Bs" Corman got permission from his producers to make this, his first film in color and with a recognizable star, for the same price as two of his usual black-and-white films. The result was a smash hit with critics and audiences, and Corman made seven more. This is still one of the best, with a comparatively restrained performance by Price, good set design and photography, and eerie music by the legendary Les Baxter. Fall Of The House Of Usher Reviews: "...A rainy-night blast..."
-- Mike Flaherty, Entertainment Weekly "...Arguably the best film of Corman's career..."
-- Mike Clark, USA Today

$15.15 Shot in Salzburg against the majestic Bavarian Alps, THE SOUND OF MUSIC is considered one of the greatest screen musicals ever made. Winner of five Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director (Robert Wise), the film, based on a real family and their true events, tells the story of a young postulate, Maria (Julie Andrews), who, after proving too high-spirited for the Mother Abess and other nuns, is sent off to work as a governess to seven unruly children. The Von Trapp family is run, in military style, by the seemingly cold-hearted Captain Von Trapp (Christopher Plummer), a lonely widowed naval officer. Seeing how badly he and his children need companionship, he proposes to the Baroness Schraeder (Eleanor Parker), a calculating, mutual friend of beloved family friend Max Detweiler (Richard Haydn). It is the baroness who soon realizes that it's Maria--with her warmth and love for the children--the captain really loves. It is nearly bliss for the newly formed family who loves to sing ...

In the fifth season, oldest daughter D.J. (Candace Cameron) gets her learner's permit, Michelle (Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen) starts kindergarten, and middle child Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) gets the chance to meet a beloved pop star. But the girls don't get to have all the fun, as each of the men has a brush with stardom. Jesse's rock star dreams may be realized when he gets the chance of a lifetime thanks to the Beach Boys; a local magazine names Danny "Bachelor of the Month," and he finds love; and Joey joins the cast of a children's television show. Plus, the house gets even more crowded as Jesse's wife (Lori Loughlin) gives birth to twins. ...
