5 stars Wow what a movie.
My wife and I loved "The basket". It is easy to relate to being outsiders a new environment with few friends and one loudmouthed bully as a neighbor. The dust ridden schoolyard, the period clothing and the extra effort made in creating this movie brought to mind everything but the smells of the era. We loved the narrations of Peter Coyote in teaching of Der Korb. And the way this opera was woven through the movie. If there were a method of rating movies which reflected family values, taught relationship values, and were as uplifting as this one did I would support only those movie makers.
