Carl Parker, Marilyn Roberts, Mary Mendum - Director: Radley Metzger Based on the novel L'IMAGE, by Jean De Berg, Radley Metzger's classic piece of underground erotica tells the story of a sadomasochistic relationship between a young girl and an older woman. Keeping the eroticism soft, yet highly stylized, Metzger delivers a refined, dramatic investigation of the complex emotional relationships and power struggles between the slaves and masters of an S&M group. The Image When I found out about this movie it sruck some interest due to when the movie was made. I felt the acting was surprizingly good. I felt the main character was a complicated individual.
A story about being in control. The person that appears to be in control isn't all what it seems. I felt the subject matter was a bit disturbing but the story was told in a way that it was thought provoking. I found myself thinking about this story days after I watched it. This movie is not for everyone but if you looking for something different on the soft porn side I recommend it. Submitted by akertis (State College, PA) Was This Review Helpful? NOT FOR THE TIMID For those who don't enjoy S&M, avoid this movie. For those who enjoy S&M, think again. There's no way to describe this movie without watching it. Surprisingly seductive for an old movie, it's not altogether erotic nor altogether perverse. For the curious, this movie is a perfect find. For the timid, this movie is not to be watched.

Good 70th erotic movie I was reading "The Image" in first place, and was quite curios to see the movie. I was not upset, I did not waste my money. Movie follows excatly as the book, sligtly boring actors, but its not bad for 70th really. Always keep in mind, that its not a movie of late 90, not special effects, not "cool" music. and also its ONLY for adults. Submitted by a reviewer (London, UK) Was This Review Helpful? | | Cuando Los Hijos Se Van DVD (1969) Spanish
Image review
$16.29 This powerful film dissects the generational differences that exploded in the 1960s. In the deeply conservative Catholic Mexico, a family is finding it hard to stick together. Federico and his sisters leave home when their parents' rigid rules prevent them from living life the way they want to live. As the youthful idealists pursue their dreams, their parents continue to put enormous pressure on them.
In the 60's almost every youngster experimented with love, freedom of expression, and ideas, but not in every family especially not a conservative Catholic one. Federico (Alberto Vasquez) is forced to leave home to pursue his singing career. Soon after his sisters follow, Amelia falls in love with a man whom, according to her parents, is beneath her and Betty is in constant battle because of her free love philosophy which goes against her Catholic background. Cuando Los Hijos Se Van, an instant hit at the Mexican Box Office, can still help us reflect on our own relationship with our children.
