Ryan Adams - Live In Jamaica: Music In High Places Movie Review Average Rating: (4.5 out of 5 stars) Meaning of Demolition For those of us who actually understand that riffs and lyrics make the music, not Versace or Gucci, then you will love this DVD. Hopefully this will be enough to convince Ms. Welch or Ms. Carey to hope back on the train with him. And in response to the above comment about Adams' unrealeased stuff...what do you think "Demo" means of "Demolition?" Submitted by kristi.lee (little rock ar) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Enjoyed MIHP on cable tv I'd never heard Ryan Adams before singing this program, one way too early morning of insomnia watching t.v. The Music in High Places (MIHP) shows are great, but too limited in my opinion.
I always watch them when available (especially with Mannie on the camera!) I just wish there were more than 58 minutes of footage to watch...
I LOVED his voice... Fabulous and sexy... He made me feel sexy just listening to him sing on this show. I'm a 43 yr. old of 3 college age sons! He's great... I enjoy watching artists, particularly live, more than just listening to a cd... Watching this gave me a personal feel of Ryan Adams, as well as supporting crew, who by the way were great! Who is that guy with the crazy black hair anyway??? The few glimpses of him are just as enjoyable as Ryan!
When are they coming to NC??? Submitted by Debbie (Raleigh, NC) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Jamaica brings the best out of Ryan As a long time Ryan fan, it's nice to finally have something of his officially released. There is some awesome bootleg stuff, but that's another story. This MIHP episode finds Ryan and Friends in Jamaica performing some of his better-known songs. The high point is a performance of Touch, Feel and Lose. Surrounded by a group of Jamaican children, he gets them to sing the Cry Cry Cry on the chorus. Other highlights include a lively version of Firecracker and Ryan playing You Will Always be the Same in a crowded market. We also see Ryan shopping and get a glimpse of his sense of humor. Also, there is a recording session and live performance with TOOTS. The song is called Hard Time Situation. A must for a Ryan diehard and novice alike. Reggae Ryan As a certified Ryan Adams fanatic, I was stoked when I saw the first showing on MTV2. Ryan with acoustic instruments shows him at his best. The tunes are great and I think you get some insight into what a nut he is. The only complaint I have is that his unreleased stuff is supposed to be incredible, why do we get only new versions of old tunes? Submitted by a reviewer (Tulsa, OK) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
