Anime action heats up when bounty hunter Spike Siegel and his cohorts go after some out-of-control bad guys intent on destroying civilization. To them, it's just another job. Feature film based on the TV series.

Set on Mars in the year 2071, COWBOY BEBOP: THE MOVIE is based on the much-loved animated television series by Japanese director Shinichiro Watanabe. (The show airs on the Cartoon Network in the U.S.) As the film begins, Spike (Steven Jay Blum) and his gang of gypsy vigilantes are roaming the city, looking for trouble when Faye (Wendee Lee) witnesses a bioterrorist attack. Hovering above the city in her spaceship, she sees a man fleeing the scene. Over 500 people die in the attack, and the city offers a monetary reward for any information. The gang jumps at the opportunity. They decide to branch out, each using their own tactics to research the tragedy. Spike slinks through Chinatown, being led by shady underground characters. Faye traces the image of the man she saw back to military files. And the young Ed (Mellisa Fahn) and her dog Ein do some handy computer research. Meanwhile Jet (Beau Billinglsea), holds down the fort, worried about the gang. When the criminal Vincent (Daran Norris), is identified, with a connection to Spike's love interest Elektra (Jennifer Hale), the real action begins. COWBOY BEBOP is a visually dramatic film that combines several styles of illustration into one beautiful, cohesive animated environment. The Mars of this film is a combination of cities: New York, Hong Kong, London, Paris, and many more. Viewers are compelled to identify monuments and familiar structures, while the terrorist theme hits fearfully close to home.

5 stars A great addition to the already fantastic series!
I own the complete set Vols 1-6 of Cowboy Bebop. This movie fits right in the middle of it with all the main characters making an appearance. The movie is action packed and has an extremely cool feel to it. A must for any of the fans of the series!

5 stars A must see for fans of the Bebop series
My high expectations were exceeded with this movie. Taking place somewhere between episode 22 and 23 of the TV series, the movie format provides greater opportunity for character depth and plot development. All your favorites are there: Spike, Jet, Faye, Ed, and even Ein. Even if you have never seen a Cowboy Bebop epidsode, you will enjoy this dvd. The movie encapsulates everything that makes the show great.

5 stars 6 out of 5 stars...
What a great movie. I was kind of worried when the title came out but boy was I surprised. I was surprised that I wasn't surprised that this movie was going to be so good. I really like how the story slowly brings the characters one by one till the viewer gets to know them. It's fast passed when it needs to be and it's also slow passed as well when it has to be. Great music, action, animation, camera angles, etc. It's a good addition to the series. I hope they make more of these... I'm almost afraid to say... a prequel? Maybe...maybe not?
