GREAT FLICK!!!
What an awesome version of this fantastic classic tale. I have looked for this non-animated version for years, patience paid off and I was pleasantly surprised!

Better than the Platinum Corp release.
I've been waiting and waiting for a good widescreen transfer of this wonderful musical from my childhood. This is the best one yet but still it's only fullscreen and has problems here and there in both the visual and audio aspects. It was worth the money because I watch this film often. It's a safe purchase until a better transfer shows up.

A British Dream Team...
Throw away your Dysney or other TV versions right now! This is the best "Alice" you will ever find. With sensitive art direction by Norman Dorme, quality photography and increadible performances by Britan's best such as Peter sellers, Dudley Moore and Michael Crawford and glorious music by John Berry (would give my right arm for this masterpice soundrtack, looked everywhere). Dark just at the right places, humor as sharp as it should be and truly magical. My only reservation concerns the choice for Alice. Eventhough Fiona Fullerton (she would later go on to participate in a couple of Bond movies) handled the part very well it is my opinion that she was slightly too old for the part. Otherwise, this is a British Dream Team production of a British classic, nothing less than apropriate, and more than you could wish for.

Great Movie, Worst DVD Ever
This DVD is unwatchable. It is struck from a print with sprocket damage so it jumps around the screen. I think they used a small apliance bulb to project it. Somehow along the way the movie goes out of focus. Not that this is too big of a deal because the picture is so dark and muddy to begin with.
This DVD is proof positive that quality and DVD do not go hand and hand.
It's a real shame given that this is probably the best of all the Alice films.
Shame on you Platinum Disc Corportation.
Hopefully the new edition by Jef Films will be better.

I was there in 1972
I saw this movie when it came out. I was about two years old and remember so much of the movie. it seemed so real when they grew and shrank, and it was the perfect blend of fantasy and reality but wasn't scary. It is a perfect family movie and I have to have it!
